I wasn't sure how to word that topic without scaring people. Ok so I signed up for my first 10K. It's an awesome cause, It's called The Underwear Affair and it's to raise money to fight below the waist cancers (the stuff people don't like to talk about)

Well for months I've been asking people to donate. I'm really bad about asking for money... I have to raise $300 or they won't let me run. Right now I have about $145. Yesterday Ozone made a gracious donation and I decided I'm desperate enough to post here to ask you guys to help.

If I can get 16 people to donate $10 I can run. Oh when is the run you ask? Tomorrow at 6 PM! Ha ha ha yeah that's why I'm desperate.

I applaud the offbeat fundraisers (the donation should be on your board now). I just donated earlier in the week to a children's charity where all the participants dyed their hair blue.

I don't see any reason not to keep it up. It's not like YOU'RE making any money on it. Good on ya!

It's for a good cause, absolutely, but asking for money on a messageboard feels kinda dodgy and spammy to me. I hope this doesn't turn into a trend.

There's enough people asking me for money in real life, via phone, e-mail and snail-mail that i rather not see it here aswell.

Yeah I was worried about that. It's not something I'd normally do, but I've been asking all the people I know several times over the last 5 months and only 2 people donated. Even my own family has ignored my pleas!

My grampa on dad's side has prostate cancer..it's basically pretty hard to cure, but works really slowly. He's going to have an operation though.
