Yes, America is officially 232. In nation years, I'd say we're about halfway through thirteen. You know, the year where we think we know everything and don't care about anything because we're going to live foreeeever? But on the bright side, we're getting closer to becoming a big boy nation. So let's all go celebrate by shooting explosives in the air, because in the end isn't that really what America is really all about?
Yep. Today was the day we realized that it was stupid to waste explosives on killing the British when they weren't actually even paying attention to us any more.
So, when do we start lying about our age? Are we old enough for our driver's license yet? (We've been trying to drive the world without one for years! )
I'm not especially patriotic, but I will celebrate anything, so pass me a hotdog and a flag. It'll be nice to have some sound to mask the usual sirens and gunfire around here.
My comics are about knives, rats, and rats with knives.
I joke, of course. What are those celebrating going to do? Besides the usual drinking and bombs that so characterize the USA? I'll be at the beach most of the day.

Curiously, in my absence my sig appears to have been tampered with.
I'm packing most of today because I'm moving to another one of our lovely states (one that currently houses my parents, since I can't afford rent at the moment :-P )
Aside from that, we're going to have hotdogs and maybe watch a movie before we haul our couches out to the curb.
ozoneocean Said: It's strange when my most is the most celebratory in a thread regarding the U.S.
I don't get excited about much of anything.

i'm going to throw off snappers, and roman candles. and some of the giant morters. but no bottle rockets. no, because bottle rockets are illegal in nebraska. but not in missouri.
also if we're changing the dates on our nations birthday....
Being a good American Capitalist and working, earning double time pay!
And since it's been slow here, I was able to do rough pencils on the next Due East page -- woohoo!
I'm off work in a couple hours and me, the wife and kids are going to see my father-in-law at a small, nearby (within 30 miles) Texas town 4th of July celebration, complete with fireworks and food .(probably barbecue)! By comparison, Austin -- where we live -- hasn't been a small Texas town in what, over 100 years?
