I didn't remember until yesterday evening that yesterday was my comic's sixth anniversary. Anybody else do that? (In all honesty, working on getting the "team" book Crossoverlord ready, and my son's birthday today, it slipped my mind, even though I asked others what I should DO for my sixth anniversary earlier in a thread on the Comicgenesis forum a month or two ago.)---Al
I don't even really register it for the most part. I can't remember the first day I put a webcomic on the net, but I believe august 10, 2001 was when I first got my comicgenesis account for Shifters way back in the day. I don't even remember when I started putting Brymstone up aside from '2004'.
The Burnhams was born 10 years ago... yes, 10 YEARS IN THE FUCKING MAKING. However, it was released on DD back in late 2005. So, basically, Burnhams was born in 1998. YAY... HAPPINESS... I'm soon gonna post it.
Billy Learns To Rock came after and it was born in 2000. It came to DD in late 2004. I posted BLTR before Burnhams because it's easier to get through than The Burnhams. The plan was that when readers get used to me... I'll pop The Burnhams up.
They're my babys and I love 'em both. Even though, my art isn't great but what the heck... those are my creations and I love them however they are.
I'm sure I'll remember it, mainly because anytime I feel bad about my art I look at the first few pages and remind myself: 'I've improved more in five months than some artists have in years'.
I'm usually pretty good at remembering dates but I've only have one comic that has been online for over a year. Kenyagi was started Nov 19th 2006. Snakes and Apples was Oct 25 07 and Beyond the Pale was Jan 13 08. I might start forgeting if I have a comic up that long though...6 years? Damn...
I don't remember when I started drawing. It was sometime in January 2007. But I know the DD anniversary because I can check the date on the first page. (There's only been one birthday. I remembered it. So far, so good...)
My comics are about knives, rats, and rats with knives.
It sometimes slips my mind and I couldn't tell you the exact days my comics started off the top of my head, but I usually remember when the time comes.
All I really do is just make a rant in my authors notes. I don't do anything special
Insanity Complex: We may not be insane, but we like to think we are
Better Luck Next Time was created November 24, 2000.
However, I didn't start drawing this comic until last year, February 2007. Thus, the first page was produced and went live March 5, 2007. Didn't join Drunk Duck until June 2007.
I don't remember the anniversary of the day I actually started drawing (it was some day in September, I think..), but I celebrate the day when it went live - it's pretty easy to remember, since it's Christmas Eve. Morphic is a year-and-almost-four-months old now.
Due East was created in 2003 when it went on Keenspace/CG and dwelled in obscurity until I found DD. Joined DD on May 6, 2007, so the DD anniversary is just around the corner.
Off Hours was created in early December 2007, so it's anniversary is quite a ways off!
The origins of George the Dragon are lost in the mists of time.......
Ok, ok. Maybe not entirely. The inception, the idea of the character started on some day in the spring of 2004, but the actual beginning of the strip was either the 28th of May or the 31st. (the first full day back at work after my honeymoon) (Yes, I know my wedding anniversary, I just don't remember if I went straight back to work after we got home from Cancun. :D )
