This could just be my internet being epic phailure, but I thought I should post anyways...

When I opened up my IE, I went to drunkduck.com.
However, when it loaded, It appeared as though I was logged in, which is odd because I always log out before I leave the site. When I clicked in MyFavorites, nothing was there! Not only that, but, when I clicked the MyComics tab, there was three comics, one by Lukee, and two others, one of which was frozen.

So I refreshed the page, and once it loaded, it said I was logged out. I logged in, and everything was normal again, so I posted this.

Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

This is one of the older/more annoying bugs that the new layout introduced. It pops up every now and then and is probably related to the whole "randomly logging people out bug." It's also a major security flaw. Have fun!

It's interesting. When you log in, 2 cookies are created on your machine, DD_id and DD_s. DD_id is simply your member number, it remains constant. DD_s is something like a ticket, a generated hash code that links you to your user info. You can change the contents of DD_id but it won't do anything because the DD_s hash generated is unique for each person, and if it doesn't match to what the database has, then you can't become someone else, and you become logged out. DD_s changes either, when you logout using the links, or when the database crashes.
So it's quite the mystery that something like this can happen o_O.

Oddly enough I've never gotten the random-logout bug or the other-people's-comics bug or... most of those.

I wonder if they're all related to one thing, which hasn't happened on my computer for... some reason.

I seem to be having a very bad case of this recently. It's really messing with my updates, because whenever I try to go to My Account, it logs me out before I can add a new page. And since the My Comics tab leads to someone elses comics, I can't update from there either! And it usually logs me out whenever I try and reply on forums too! Here's to hoping that this gets through to you guys! (fingers crossed)

DD is only supposed to make you log in again if it detects your IP, location, or computer are different from what you had last time you logged in. For example, there's 2 computers in my house- normally I use the upstairs one for DD and don't have to re-log-in. But if I go downstairs to visit DD then I need to log in again. Then when I go back upstairs to use it, I need to log in again. I wonder if it's somehow related to that? Can a person's IP fluctuate in that way while they're connected?

Are you guys using proxy servers, or a service like AOL?

I log in at school using IE and then I have to log in again at home using Mozilla. But I have to log in when I switch from IE to Mozilla, on the same computer.

Yeah, it's supposed to do that. It's part of the security measures. Technically you are starting a new session when you switch browsers.
