I recently came into a bit of new music. Some of it you guys have probably heard, others of it you probably haven't. I will list it off, you guys can check it out, and maybe list some of your own favorite stuff.

Jack Johnson's New CD, Sleep Through The Static. -- I have this on my ipod, and I'm listening to it right now from school. It is amazing. It's got some soft stuff, some pop stuff, and more soft stuff. Perfect music for browsing internet sites.

Black Kids EP, The Wizard of Aaaahs. -- My friend Nick sent me a link to Black Kids' free EP, which you can download yourself for *free*. Get it, it's freaky, silly, and reminiscent of the Rocky Horror Picture Show/80's movie music. Basically it's good getting-down music.

Juno Soundtrack -- I don't know who hasn't watched this movie yet, but it's one of the best movies of 07. The music fits the movie perfectly, it's got a cool indie feel to it, and I'd recommend it for anyone who isn't into Swedish Death Metal.

Vampire Weekend -- I haven't had time to listen to this whole album yet, but what I have listened to so far I love. Good Indie feel.

Across the Universe -- Who doesn't love Beatles covers? I love Beatles covers even more than Beatles actual music (hence my obsession with I am Sam), and this movie/soundtrack nails it. Great renditions.

The Killers, Sawdust -- Killers continue to impress me. I'm surprised I didn't get into them earlier, but I guess you can blame that on me being naive. Killers nailed it again.

Minus the Bear -- a good friend recently showed me a few songs from Minus the Bear, and I loved every second of them. If you like Indie Rock, with soft undertones and strong guitar strumming, then you'll love Minus the Bear. I do.

Shaimus -- I don't know if you guys played the first Guitar Hero religiously. I never got a chance to. However, as I was going through the Guitar Hero playlist, I came upon the song "All of This," and since then I've loved everything by Shaimus. Good, upbeat rock music.

Sister Hazel -- Sister Hazel has been around for nearly 10 years, but unfortunately they're still unknown. Their ability to make *good* music overcompensates for their ability to be super-mainstream-popular. They've got beautiful ballads about love, hope, and pain, and they can rock it when they want to.

I didn't see any other thread about music in here, so I figured I'd post this. If there's another thread I don't know about, I'll gladly move this post to it.

I'm thinking about getting that Jack Johnson album...

Metal Music LIVES \m/ Hail Satan...

I recently bought Avantasia's newest album "The Scarecrow" and it's beyond amazing. The best song is the title song "The Scarecrow" clocking 11+ minutes with a unique atmosphere. I recommend it of anyone who's into Metal.

I finished Vampire Weekend's album, "Vampire Weekend," and I gotta say it's one of my favorite indie albums I've ever heard.

Please, if you like music, get it.

I'm a pretty big Wilco fan and Sky Blue Sky is a great album. Even the Volkswagen commercial hasn't killed it for me.

Jack Johnson fans should also check out an album by M Ward called "Post-War" that came out last year. Its really good.

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is astounding. Honestly, how many people could not get into a ghost is born? Maybe it was time and or place but it never really did it for me.

I've been on a Misfits kick again. They fill my head with little B-movies. Perfect comics making music.

Jack Johnson is totally overrated.

I liked about half of a Ghost is Born, you have to listen to it a while before the songs grow on you, but still "Company in My Back", "Handshake Drugs", "Hummingbird" and "The Last Greats" are all decent enough songs. It's a shame they ruined things with those 11 minute tracks that achieve nothing but to kill the momentum of the album.

Sorry, not trying to turn this into a Wilco thread but they were on SNL last night and it was awesome.

I just watched Lightning Bolt's live DVD The Power of Salad. It was packed with energy and crazy performances. I suggest you guys give Lightning Bolt a listen or check out the dvd.
