Good day. My name is Christopher Moshier and I co-created and write a strip posted on DRUNK DUCK called UNCLE DOUG. Please check out the strip at the following URL:
For the SPRING of 2008 we're kicking off a new storyline that is kind of a takeoff of the movie CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN 2. The basic premise revolves around the return of UNCLE DOUG'S brother (CHUCK) from IRAQI. Upon his return CHUCK wants to spend time with his nieces and nephews so he enrolls them all in a survival camp where families or groups of people go to compete in various survival competitions. For example say one of the competitions is SPLATTBALL.
What we're looking for are characters that can fit into the UNCLE DOUG world that would be enrolled as a team member at this survival camp. Your characters would cameo during the entire storyline. AGAIN! We would need characters who fit into the UNCLE DOUG world so if you have a talking dog or a vampire, etc. then that wouldn't fit. We'd also like characters who have established strips meaning at least 10 or more strips posted at DRUNK DUCK. PLEASE no SPRITE comics.
I feel I must add that our intentions aren't to make your characters look stupid or do them injustice. We hope to do the opposite. I'll be happy to work with the individual creators if there happens to be opportunities for character lines and situations. We can discuss if you want to draw your own characters into a scene. This would be at our discretion based on ability. I hope that doesn't sound mean. We want to keep the story consistant.
What we would need at this point if your interested is the link to your strip of course and then any character designs you may have of the characters you wish to involve. I welcome any ideas you may have in incorporating your characters. If you would like to do a crossover during our initial storyline I would also be willing to discuss this.
If there is an overwhelming response I'll do my best to get every request that fits into our criteria in the story. Please keep in mind before contacting us that the strip is UNCLE DOUG so the story will revolve around those characters. Your characters will be in the background, BUT depending on how the story goes I may request to give them lines or incorporate them into the story. NOTHING will be done to a character without said creator's consent.
Thanks so much for checking this out and I look forward to speaking with you. I'm pretty excited about this!
Please contact me VIA DRUNK DUCK or feel free to email me at cmoshier@rochester.rr.com.
"Warpedwenger" - We'll see what we can do with WILL. Please shoot me an image of the character and a quick sentence or 2 bio. I started going through your strips to get a better idea of the character and will have to finish tomorrow. Not sure who Will is at this point. Thanks so much for the reply!
"BlueFlame_Studios" - Chuckie will work great! Please do send a pic and mini-bio. It will help us very much. I was able to go through all your strips. Great job! Love them!

Great! And thank you, I've just sent the email with his profile attached.
It sounds like you wont need many female characters. Especially 17 and 15 year old ones like my characters Fenny Baker and Sally Dean.
But if you would like to use either of them you most certainly are welcome to do so. Would be interesting to see them drawn in your style.
Also feel free to do whatever, I'm not an overprotective author with my characters, If they need to be dumb to help your story or comedy that's fine, Rocket scientists? Fine as well. Change them to fit however you need them.
Here are some decent pics of the characters, Fenny is the taller blond, Sally is the short brunette
Sorry he's the guy chained to the rock...

He's lazy,hip,self-centered,and crude so you should be able to use him as an antagonist... If you stick to those traits I dont care what you do with him. There really isn't anything he wouldn't say or do.

Sounds good - we shall add him to the cast and give you a heads up if we have an idea for him during the story. I never know what is going to happen as we move forward. I know it gets said a lot, but the characters always seem to dictate the story.
Oh, this sounds like fun! Pablo Lizalde introduced himself to me a few months ago and I've been reading (enjoying!) Uncle Doug ever since.
I have a whole cast of teenagers you could use from my comic The Dreamer but I think the most fun for this scenario would be my heroine's evil cousin John. Someone needs to send him to boot camp to wipe the smug smile off his face. John Mulligan.
You could use any of my characters though. They're all here. I'm sure Bea, my star, could be sent to boot camp for being a brat.
If any of my characters appear, I'll link back to the strip from my DD page but also from my Official Website where I get about 30,000 hits a day. Since I like your comic.

Pablo colors DOUG for ones who are wondering.

I've been following your story and am very familiar with it. It is top notch. I already have an idea to include them and it will be fitting once you see it.

That would be awesome!
Thanks, Lora. Once I get there I'll clue you in on what I have in mind for the characters. I want to make sure each creator is happy in how we use them. Please keep in touch and as always...
I'm updating this post to jump it back up to the top of the boards. I just wanted anyone who already agreed to participate that I'm beginning to write the story arc that will lead to your character cameos. They may not be posted until early summer, but we are getting there.
ALSO! Anyone else interested we are still certainly open for more participation.
If you are still taking characters, my character is always up for a cameo. Can't speak for the other characters since I use them with permission only (save of course the characters who are in the public domain). My character (has my name and wears a red sweater) can be found at: http://www.drunkduck.com/Rumbles/
and http://www.drunkduck.com/Rumbles_Late_Night/
Much of it is stick figure so far, but there are artists working on the main Rumbles story now (they're doing a great job).
What a cool idea!
I think my lead character from my comic Nebulon would fit your story nicely. Rakim Gillis is a 15 year old kid with super-powers, but ultimately he just wants to be normal. And what's more normal than Summer Camp??
A survival camp would be a great way for him to discover how to solve problems without relying on his powers. Of course the temptation to fly or fire star-bolts will be constant, but that would undermine his entire reason for being there.
If you choose to use him, I can reference this cameo later when he has to write a report for school about how he spent his Summer vacation.

We'll add you to the list.
Someone Said: Just like to say that although SiaV will be going on a break for about a year, I'd still love this cameo. DON'T GET RID OF ME!
That is all.
No worries - everyone who has posted so far will be involved.

I'll add you to the list. Thanks so much. I'll be starting the script probably in a month or so. We'll have a lead into the story so I hope the end of Spring the cameos will begin appearing.
