Hey there, everybody. I thought that maybe I should start advertising my webcomic, which I've been working on for quite a while, but only started posting recently.
In essence, an action/comedy placed in the Final Fantasy VII world, when two girls cross over inexplicably and into the lives of the full FFVII cast. It's about adjusting when something is over, when something begins, and when chocobos deliver milk bottles in the morning as moogles deliver the mail. And why are people suddenly crossing over in the first place?
Read and find out! Comments and questions appreciated.
excellent. your linework and coloring are impressive. I dont mean this in a bad way but those filler or contest comics were sort of strange and kind of got in the way. but hey, those were good too.
I have one question, is it read backwards like a manga? because it sort of makes sense in that order too....
Nah, it's not read backwards. ^^; I figure "Hey, since I speak English, I might as well do it the old-fashioned way." I did want to move the contest images to an extra page, but I still need to figure out how to make a new page for that, but I do agree, it does throw off the flow of the comic. Glad you still like it, though. .w.
I'm....confused. Is there meant to be a story going on here, which has drowned in filler pages and the DD beauty contest or is the comic meant to be just completely random and full of non-sequiturs? It's kind of distracting at the moment. especially having all those fillers at the start of the comic. The first 3-5 pages are VITAL for hooking a reader, so I'd really recommend making a new, separate comic for fillers and moving the DDBC pages to there.
That out the way, I think this is good. There aren't many non-spite videogame fancomics about, and this one is good. The drawing is of a high quality and the tone and layout hit all the manga buttons and look close to pro standard.
So things to work on would be:
1. Cut down on the fillers, they're detracting from the comic.
2. The page layouts are very striking right now, but often choose style over substance. try to make the panels tell the story more. Use small panels for little details and big panels for important things. Think about where you'll put your dialogue balloons so that they're not needing to be so squashed.
You're doing well so far. The drawing is good, it's just the 'telling the story in pictures' you need to make your priority. I can see this becoming a very good comic! Ganbatte!
Hey, thanks a lot for the good advice. :D I do want to make a separate section for the contest filler, as soon as I either figure out dreamweaver to make a separate page, or get someone to do it for me. =w=; But I agree, it kinda smacks you in the face and makes you forget what's going on unless you go back or something.
As for the panels, I'll work on the storytelling. Admittedly, it's something I'm new at. I haven't quite struck the easy flow of an actual manga yet. ^^;
Mmkay, big update this time. I've given the comic a brand new layout, moved all the DD beauty pageant pages to a bonus art section (among other things in there), a link to my dA account, and an "About" and "Fanart" page to come soon. Probably. >o> Maybe?
So, for all ya'll stoppin' by here, won't you come browse? :D <3
