Okay, here's an interesting question. How would I go about creating the boxes for my comic using Photoshop masks. I've seen one method where masks are used, but can't quite figure out how.
Basically, I'm looking for a method that will cut outside work from where the box is, preserving the work inside and making the boxed in edge. I've only HEARD that masks can do that. I'm still rather new to Photoshop, so any technique for boxing in the comic panels would be great.
On a side note, does anybody know how to get Photoshop to detect that I have a tablet PC WITHOUT installing Wacom's Penabled Tablet drivers? They screwed with my sketchbook program that I make my rough drafts in. Thanks for anything!

Well... my method is, create a layer over your lineart and fill it with a solid color. Lower the transparency temporarily so you can see what you're working with, and use the rectangular marquee tool to select the location and size of your panels. Then just hit "delete".
Well, I'm working quite heavily with layers. I'm thinking that each panel will have to be its own group, with the box, line art, color, and shading. I need to be able to move the panels at will, but also have them cut any outside art away, leaving a clean box.
