I think it'd be a good idea to have a thumbnail for the recently updated lists on the front page. It could be like the most popular strips thumbnail that changes as you scroll over the different titles on the list.

It could be good in helping to expose readers to new comics, not only getting the reader's attention, but readers are probably more likely to click a link if they know what they're getting into. The readers benefit by being able to avoid stuff they know they wont like and finding the stuff they will like more easily.
