Gotta say I REALLY liked it a lot. It was really entertaining for what it was. A badass action flick filled with awesome stunts, tons of violence and a little bit of humor.
The story was fairly decent all things considered. The main plot actually brings to mind a kinda scary thought of what could happen to the country. Good acting/characters in my opinion. lots of crazy action sequences that'll make you grin.
Obviously there was some scenes that were pretty unrealistic but still, the point was to move the story along and be entertaining about it.
It definitly quenches the need for ridiculous violence.
I still find it funny that Bruce Willis insisted on doing his own stunts. The man's how old? Nah, I kid. It's admirable. I wouldn't let some guy take a blow for me.
How does it measure up compared to the other Die Hard movies?
I went to see the first and second Die Hard at the theaters six times (I was such a fanboy back then)! I only saw the third Die Hard on cable last year (it was okay, not great).
From what I can tell Bruce Willis was looking to make up for Die Hard 2 and 3 with this one. He wanted to reclaim what made the first one so good. And I think it did a good job.

I haven't seen it yet but I want to (I can't help it, I just love Bruce Willis). Just wanted to comment on this. MOST action movies have unrealistic action scenes. It's a staple, I think. Some of the most unrealistic scenes can also be the most fun, in my opinion.
