If your a wrestling fan, I would imagine you have heard the story about Benoit supposedly killing his wife and 7 yr old son over the weekend and himslf sometime monday. If not go to wwe.com or google it. It is a unthinkable horror, yet shocking deaths such as these seem to occur all too often in the world of pro wrestlong/sports entertainment. If you a fan what our your thoughts on this? I thought it was beyond word to watch the show last night see Vince Mcmahon and everyone else break character and story line, something Vince himself almost never does. As if the news presented on WWE Raw last night, that their 3 bodies were discovered in the house wasnt bad enough, I flip over to ESPN afterwards and discover it was a double murder/suicide. I log on to the computer and read and AOL news and WWE news that Chris is the suspect, and also that WWE has the cause of deaths and more info but can not release it at this time due to police request. I learned that Benoit supposedly killed his wife, little kid and himself, and I just watched a 3 hour tribute to him Monday night. I am not quite sure how I feel about that. Benoit has been one of my favorites since first entering WCW over a decade ago, I admire and respected him beyond. However, I do have to say/wonder if in light of what happened, if he actually did it, did he deserve a tribute? I am not so sure I can answer that question wholeheartedly. What are you thoughts on this tragic moment?
Also, Benoit left behind a daughter and another some according to reports, Meagan and David. Remeber them in your prayers, God onlys knows what they must feel.
I was thinking about posting this myself, but no one really has much respect for them here...
When I found out that the police thought it was a double homicide/suicide... I didn't know what to think. This is the story as I know it: Chris was supposed to wrestle Sunday at the WWE pay-per-view Vengence. He couldn't, because of "personal-family-issues". And yesterday, he was found dead with his family. I can't really say anyhting other than R.I.P Chris Benoit, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and family.
We were discussing it in the drunk duck chatroom last night, I just can't belive the guy that did the crossface move (who I used to use on the wrestling games) killed his wife, kid, and himself.
The real story should be Paris Hilton being released from jail.
Someone Said: ...Vince McMahon, announced the news live. An entire three hours was devoted to Chris Benoit's career Monday night, replacing what was to be a live RAW event.
so why are they honoring a woman and child killer?
seems wrong to me

At that time all they knew was that the Benoit family was dead. The conclusion that it was a double homicide/ suicide was made after the show. So, they wanted to honor one of their greatest wrestlers... I still don't know what to thik about the whole double homicide/suicide thing...
There's a difference between thinking, and hoping. And right now, I really hope he didn't do it.
it seems like he did. Most pro wrestlers on any mixture of drugs, including steriods. Its entirely possible that he and his wife were arguing. She had filed for a divorce before and apparently he's abused her before.
The way they think it happened is that he killed his wife by suffocating her, then his son the next morning while his son was still in bed. Later that day he hung himself on his excersize machine. No notes were left, but apparently there was a bible left next to each of the bodies.
Strange. Tragic too.
Iconoclast: One who attacks and seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions.
Yeah, that's actually what they think it was, because they found steriods in his house. Weird though, because he wasn't a huge muscle-bound guy like other people who takes steriods.
Well, when I heard it, I was under the impression that his family was killed under different circumstances. When I found out that he was the culprit, I was shocked. I heard that he loved his son and was very protective of him. It's all very confusing...Buuuut, once the initial shock wore off, I was filled with indifference. Messed up stuff happens like this every day. Doesn't matter if your famous or not, he's an hero now and he will be for evar.
Besides, I was too busy watching the Paris Hilton Jail Release coverage.

I've got to agree with all that... The whole was just... very confusing.
Hmm. Ever since I watched that great Smackdown match where he lost to HHH, I liked Benoit as a wrestler.
Roid rage is most likely. Though he may also have been an abusive person privately.
Yes he was using steroids. You can tell by looking at him. And Eddie Guerrerro. I was surprised by how fast Eddie bulked up during his stint on Smackdown.
Now, perusing WWE news archives, I find out Eddie had died of steroid use complications. Wow. And British Bulldog. And Mr. Perfect. Wow.
