Any possibility of implementing the ability to save newsposts when you do a backup of your comic? Some of mine are exceptionally long and I'd like the ability to keep them without having to manually log them myself.
Also, please, please allow non-registered users to comment again. I don't care if it's non-default and you have to enable an option to allow it, but seriously. Re-allow them.
The first suggestion is simply great. I know it is too much, but saving the comments too would be even more awesome. I totally second this one.
The second one is not going to happen, it has been discussed to death. Those who want non registered users to comment their comics use tag-boards or shoutboxes (or compatible) embebbed in their templates.
We'll have to add the author's-comment-saving to the suggestion list. Wouldn't hurt to add all comments, either. For now though you'll have to save them manually.
Also having more than one assistant has been on the want list for a while, but I can understand why people keep asking for it. (Because it hasn't happened yet and it would be useful.)
I don't think we'll ever go back to having non-registered user comments. It protects the comic owners from rampant abuse, and also keeps the spambots away. I know some people don't like to sign up for a site just to leave a comment or two, but we figure it's more important to keep spammers off the site.
But what if there was an ability to toggle whether you want to allow non-registered comments or not? It seems to me that something like that would work well.
Any idea as to how I'd go about in doing that, then?
Basically you go to shoutbox.com (or similar), sign up, they give you an html code for the comments box, you copy and paste it in your comic's layout and you're done.
