I was looking threw my comic stats and such and i came accross DrunkDuck Rank. And it has some numbers, and i've noticed over the past few months that that number changes, and i was wondering what that is. I thought i might have had it at one point, knowing what it was, but then i got confused, so if someone would be so kind as to telling me what this is and how it works, that would be great.

DD rank is the rank of your comic. so if you're number is like #100, then you are #100 out of all the comics/strips :3 But i'm a little bit confused on the whole rank thing too...It's driving me insane ><

I'm curious as to how the thing works :s It's like the more popular my comic becomes the lower my rank gets :o The Faction was a much higher rank when I was first starting out on my comic, I used to be like 50-60ish and now i'm almost like 200 :x Anyone know how the whole thing works? :s Is it because of the growing number of new comics? Or is it because I'm not cool in the eyes of the Drunk duck anymore? T.T Thanks.

I'm not actually sure how the rank is calculated. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the page-by-page votes. I suspect it's some formula that has to do with the number of favorites, pageviews, and possibly reccommended favorites? Maybe also the amount of comments? We've asked Volte and he won't tell us... I think he conveniently 'forgets' :lol: Maybe he's keeping it secret so people don't manipulate it or something, there's plenty of people like that on DD.

Assuming the Front Page's top lists are made from the stats, I'd say that your "DrunkDuck Rank" is calculated from Weekly/Daily page views :o

Kevin, that's what I thought too, except I know for a fact that PT has been getting more pageviews per day than Ethos, and Ethos is a higher rank. =P So it's not pageviews alone, like skoolmunkee said, it's probably a combination of things.

I guess we'll never know unless Volte spills the beans.

Actually, the DD Comic Ranks are easy to figure out if you know a thing or two about the internet, page views, and PHP. The ranks are based off a simple formulaic system that is very easy to figure out if you just think about it. Anyway, the DD Ranks are determined by how each comic page is put in relation toward fgsfds.

I agree with not saying so people won't manipulate it so easily- a lot of people would do that. I know on DevArt people started doing "If you fav me I'll fav you, if you watch me I'll watch you" to gain popularity.

I'm too new to have given it much thought. It did confuse me a little- but I didn't look into it too much. It isn't anything too obvious, but I'd imagine it's a combination of views, comments, rating, and faves. Maybe even the kind of views... like all pageviews and individual views. I don't remember what those were called- maybe special, I think it takes into account people going to the site multiple times and getting rid of those times.
