Ok, so who went.. what swag did you walk away with, what did you enjoy the most?

My local comic shop had a limit to three comics (I don't know if that is standard practice), but I walked away with a "Wizard: How to Draw" comic, the Viper Comics collection, and curious - but ultimately the best of the bunch - comic called Mr. Jean that seems to be an English translation of a French comic. Very cool!

Oh, I also bought issues 2 and 3 of the Jeff Smith Shazaam! mini series.

Not sure what all we got. My wife grabbed a bunch of stuff including a Batman Heroclix and a Clone Trooper for the Star Wars miniature game.
I ended up finding a copy of the one volume edition of Bone, so I was happy with buying that.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles".
We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

I got all the free promo comics. Out of all of them, one eight page preview for a comic called "Pantheon City" interested me the most. It looks completely and totally awesome. I think it's from Dark Horse.

Anyway the rest were alright. Image released a new comic by Robert Kirkman which looked kind of cool, but I thought the dialogue was little off. Marvel and DC completely failed this year though. DC's free Justice League comic was incomprehensable.

Ah the Big Bone Volume? Snazz. I own a copy. Those things are hard to find these days - being out-of-print and all.

Had a great time for Free Mini Comic Day. I printed out about 500 comics for it, and had about 200 more donated by other publishers. We were about 150-200 comics short to reach our full goal, so we had to leave a few of our original stores out, but we managed to get about 50 stores around the country to participate.

I bought the first issue of bone first and then found that there was a collection.

That really pissed me off.

I was a guest artist (one of eight) at Happy Harbor Comics in Edmonton, AB for Free Comic Book Day. It was a ton of fun and the store was insanely busy. I walked away with 20 or so free comics and bought Green Lantern Corps issues 1 & 2, The Walking Dead Vol. 1, Powers Vol. 1, The Goon Vol. 0, and Preacher Vol. 1. They had a big sale on so I decided to jump into some titles that I had been interested in for a while but hadn't read yet. The Goon was the exception, Vol. 0 was the only one I needed to complete my collection of Goon trades.

Funny how you go in for free comics and end up buying something. Oh wait...

Walking Dead is an excellent series btw.
