After seeing the disorganized debocle that was this years WCCA awards (sorry guys, but it was)
I hope that the Duck awards will be more timely, and things explained more clearly.
I realize that the WCCA guys ran into some technical stuff, but come on. It was a mess
from the get go, and communications were difficult as well. (Plus Pinky TA did not get a nomination, which is just simply WRONG.)

I had really hoped to do a presentation, and put in an early request and interest in the
multiple places that they had us jump through hoops- the coordinator never responded to anyone
for a long time, and then posted a call for presenters in his blog, that if you were unaware
of (like me) you never even knew about it.

That is an example of how the whole WCCA thing
seemed to go. It made it seem very unprofessional, very amaturish.

Seeing how DD is run, and the kind of community it is, I doubt that would be the case here.
With Ronson, Skool, Black Kitty and others all keeping things good I think this could be a very
cool and influential award ceremony. Good luck with the planning! If yall need some help, please let me know.

Thats my two cents. And yes, we lost in the one category we were nominated in in the WCCAs, so I suppose Im nursing a bit of a punch in the gut.

Yeah, WCCA was a bit kak. With the HUGE excel spreadsheet nomination lists... And what I disliked most was the lack of links to the comics on the final vote... Not even a thumbnail. That was crap. For a few I was just picking a name that sounded nice. Honestly, that's what I did.

Oh, don't worry, I'll make sure this thing even gets off the ground.

That shouldn't be of concern at this moment. The things on my agenda is actually picking the awards and trying to at least get this thing off the floor.
