I was looking at some of my dead links on http://www.detectivefork.com and came across a couple old Drunk Duck favorites of mine that seem to have had any trace they ever existed wiped from the Internet. I think some of the Drunk Duck comics that had gone on hiatus or ended disappeared for good when Drunk Duck went throught it's big downtime and rebuild. Many cartoonists never bothered to come back and post their archives.
One of my favorites reads when I started coming to Drunk Duck in early 2005 was Oshkosh and Josh by Jonathan Requesens. It was this cutesy comic about a boy and his dog but it was very endearing. I, of course, drew a crossover comic in which the first thing Detective Fork did was traumatize the two by taking them to a murder scene (using dog Oshkosh to sniff out the body). Is Oshkosh and Josh anywhere to be found online? Anyone know what became of Jonathan Requesens?
The 16 Comic by Ken Blaney was a fun read. It was about the apocalypse and a love triangle, lol. Ken still has a web page for the comic elsewhere but all the comic images are gone.
Another vanished favorite of mine was Ninja Fork by Anime Mike but I think the reason I miss that is obvious. It was a big homage to my comic. :-D
Any comics you guys are missing that have faded into nothingness?
Well, I woulda said Elf Only Inn, but that started updating again, so...
One of the first comics I found when I came to DD (pre-crash) was called Mopery. A terrible, terrible little comic drawn in MS Paint. But it was kinda funny, so I liked it anyway.
It's gone now. :-(
Spritely - for all your funny needs. Total Immersion - for all your Pokemon-centric pseudo-romantic story needs.
Elf only Inn started updating again??? It's been ages! I used to like reading that comic... But as soon as he went from Keenspace to keenspot his updates stopped dead
He was m my fave right wing comic maker
The loss of Jelly is still a sore spot for me. There were lots of good comics and friends there. And a lot of those comics haven't appeared elsewhere, to my knowledge.
Most tend to be out of sight, out of mind with me =( but I do remember one - Unlikely Savior Chyler. The last time I saw it, it had changed its title. I don't remember that title so I don't know if it's still running or not.
Kid Radd was awesome, to say the least. It's a sprite comic, about videogame sprites. All custom made by Dan Miller, excluding a few cameos. It's no gag comic though - the storyline is downright epic, from start to finish. It uses all sorts of nifty animations and things, too. I've never seen anything else like it.
Also, Adventurers! Fun and funny comic about a console RPG (sort of like a parody of the Final Fantasy series). It plays on all the crazy cliches and things those RPGs always had in them. The art starts out rough, but eventually gets much nicer.
