Hey everyone! It's about damn time I posted a thread on these forums, rather than waltzing into random topics and contributing little to the discussion. I need to start giving something back to the community that has given so much to me! (Which has been of course, nothing but stabs at my self-esteem and public degradations.) Nah, I'm joshing ya Drunk Duck, you're a bit of alright! You've aided me in getting my very first webcomic on its feet and seen by the public! Now, you're helping me with my advertising and you might even help me with some constructive critique! *Wink, wink*
"Under Management" is my latest (and first) addition to the webcomic community here on Drunk Duck. Up until October 15th 2006, all my comics had been restricted to the world of print. The term "webcomics" was, at that time, quite the mystery to me. But when a fellow HR Wiki Forum member began hosting her comics on Drunk Duck, I quickly became aware of the webcomic world. So, I decided to put an idea I had been mulling around in my head (since the summer) to good use! Under Management came to be through a combination of three random characters. Each of these characters conveniently came from various aspects of my life, all of which involved my art. I thought of setting, thought of some scenarios, and the sky was the limit. I immediately began drawing up the first pages and my artistic life took a turn for the better.
As Under Management has now hit 10 pages, plugging/critiquing it would seem to be the thing to do. Under Management is a comic strip that falls under the "Abstract category and the "Comedy" subcategory. Rated "E" for everyone, this webcomic follows a style similar to that of Matt Groening's "Life in Hell". So yes, the art is 100% traditional. (The only thing digital about it is the fact that it is scanned onto the computer and dubbed a "webcomic".) You will rarely see any kind of story developing in Under Management, as each page is its own random scenario. The updating schedule is completely "go-with-the-flow", so it reflects what happens in my own life. Under Management follows a platypus named Kooky, a pylon named Pocket Pylon and a giant hotdog named The Giant Hotdog, as they laze around the Winston Slip in their cottage letting whatever happens, happen. I like to think of it as a portrayal of anthropomorphic characters at their best. Or in this case, their worst.
Official Short Description:What happens when a giant hotdog, a pylon and a platypus get together? Absolutely nothing... well, nothing beneficial. So join this peculiar trio as they get nowhere fast, lounging around the Winston Slip. There's always a wacky, ill-fated adventure in store!

It is written, illustrated and edited by me, Taylor Beaumont (or Beaums) and has survived a measly 10 pages! But I can only get so much out of Under Management by myself; I need you guys to lend a helping hand! So if you're interested please check out Under Management. I'm really looking for some more comments and some more ratings; so don't be afraid to get INVOLVED! I'd also like to hear what you think about my work. So this thread is open for you critiquing. I'm down with constructive criticism, so do what you gotta do. Just don't down my spirits too bad, I'm still pretty new to Drunk Duck. Anyways, have fun!
