Now up for review; a comic that's been on DD since, i think, the very beginning.
Sadly the archive, right now, starts at page 93.

I like it! The simple drawings are very cute. The birds seem to all look alot alike except for their colors.. it's not that big of a deal.

The comic writing reminds me of Garfield or what Garfield used to be. The jokes are simple and for the most part pretty safe for all audiences. It's so hard to make up non-mature humor sometimes, but Brutus does the trick which I guess is it's charm.

Ditto on what the others here said.
it's a pretty simple little comics, about birds. it didn't really catch my interst in anything at all, but I'll try my best to review.

Art: I would rate this at least 6/10, snice even though the artwork isn't the greatest thing in the universe it does it job, for this comic. it's simple but very good.

Characters: Not much serious character delvopment going on, as seeing this is mostly an strip comic focused on comedy and gags. And strangely enough, you can tell the characters apart despite the fact that the birds all look pretty much the same due to being drawn the same exact way. so bonus points for that... that's much more than can be said for some gag/comedy strip comics out there.I would rate the characters themselves 7/10.

Story: no story here. just gags, puns and jokes. so I rate this part 0/10.

Humor: now this I would rate 8/10. some of the humor was actually very funny, but like with all strips there'll always be a few hits and misses. there was some parts where it just didn't make me even giggle.

Overrall-- Brutus's a pretty decent strip comic. it's very simple but I think it was meant to be like that... and it caters to people who mostly just wants to be enterained and laugh without thinking too much about the delvopment, etc.
its not my type of comic, but I think it can be enjoyed greatly by others as seeing it isn't half bad, and I would rate this overrall 7/10 for that reason.

I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done!

It's inoffensive and family friendly, very universal, which I think deserves merit. The style is simple and won't put anybody off, and the humour doesn't rely on obscure references, tastelessness, bad language or anything. There's nothing in this comic that makes me dislike it particularly, no bad art, no jokes that don't make sense, illogical plotholes or mary sues or anything.
The downside though is that the comic is often bland. It's not bad, but it's not amzing either. The humour made me smile occasionally, but never actually made me laugh aloud, the art style is safe, technically pretty decent, but doesn't grab me and make me go 'hey, this looks great!'. There's enough characterisation for the jokes to work, but the characters aren't distinctive enough to really endear me to them.
I suppose that makes this a remarkable comic in that it's greatest virtue may also be it's greatest flaw. It is always a decent comic. That means pretty much that it's never an awful comic, there is never a terrible joke or a page where the art looks awful, but it also means there's never a page that just totally knocks my socks off with a really funny line I want to quote, a great character moment or a really well drawn panel.
Though personally I didn't find it a stimulating read, I can see that many people would value the consistant quality of the comic. I think the creator could take a few more risks, maybe experiment with the art and/or format, maybe the situation anc characters. Mix things up a bit. There's a solid archive and a solid fanbase there already, so I think there's room to try out some new things.

Alright... well.
Starting at page 93 doesn't hurt it much. It's one o' them gag strips.
The art, yet again, is simple and works for it. Big eyes, short bodies. While the art looks like it could be limited to simple poses, it does well for it. Ninja stealth attacks aren't exactly stealthy and besides the birds all looking alike, the different colors I think are enough to pass it. That being said, it isn't the best art but then again beautiful art has a habit of taking away from humor.
Humor? It's amusing. Nothing really made me fall out of my chair, but a little smile came from every page.
As for the Characters, I think the starting from page 93 finally brings a little bit of ache to the comic. For comics like this, I usually don't get attached to the characters, but for this particular comic, I want to get attached to the characters because they're cute and funny and warm feeling. But the current length of the comic and the range of jokes being done isn't really providing the birds an open look at themselves. It's a rare moment where you can identify with them, but not attach to them.
All in all, I agree that if the author took some risks with the writing. It is a decent comic. I want to see it grow. I hope it updates sometime soon(late september was it's last, did you know?)

I'm a chauvinistic whore, why hello there, Sally.
