I need some help with colouring/shading in Photoshop, and inking hand drawn pictures. I've been searching for tutorials for awhile, but couldn't find any good ones.
I'm going to try to upload a hand drawn page to my comic, but I'm having alot of trouble.
First of all, I don't know how to ink it. Should I do it with a certain kind of pen, or should I do it on the computer? If on the computer, then how do I do it? Would I need a tablet, or is there a certain option that is best for inking the image on the computer?
Also, I don't know how to properly edit, shade, and colour the image in Photoshop. Every time I try to get rid of something on the image, half of it gets erased as well, and I just don't know how to colour on Photoshop at all. Any tips on that would be appreciated.
I just got Photoshop last week, so I hardly know anything about it.

It depends on what's comfortable for you. If you want everything to be done digitally, then I suggest investing in a tablet. Tracing over with a mouse can be painful (I've tried it) and it will produce shaky , unsmooth lines, at best if you don't have a steady hand. Not to mention it takes hours on end to do if you have a really complex page with a lot of details.
I ususally do it the traditional way and ink my work then scanned the inked image. But again, this is all preference. Do whatever is most comfortable for you to achieve the desired result.

There are plenty of Photoshop tutorials out there, whether it be here on Drunkduck or Google. I think you should first get used to the controls, use of Layers, etc. first before you tackle a large project. You need to learn to walk before you can run
