Lately i was round my grans for the night, anything i dont use at home anymore ends up in my room at me grans, so i was bored and dug out my PS1, and so as a result have become hoplessly addited to Ridge Racer Type 4...
I was never around to see the days of PlayStation 1, but I at least got a good look around with it with the emulator. Even with a couple of graphical bugs, I still enjoyed the games... Klonoa, Ace Combat 2, RayStorm, Strider 2, and Einhander. I never got around to playing Final Fantasy VII since I wasn't a big fan of RPG. (Gasp?)
And now the HD's been busted so all my saved files were destroyed by reformat. Damn it, it took me ages to get all the crap.
Ace Combat 3 can go to hell for all I care.
I wondered why I didn't know it sooner ever since.
"I like shooting, but I sure as hell don't like being shot at."
Zelda ensured that I took the N64 route that generation. While I don't regret that decision, I'm sure there are several gems of Playstation 1 era that I've missed out on. Now that my PC can faithfully emulate a PS1, I should probably give some of them a shot.
my first console was my dear Marideth (a PS2), but i did scrounge through the games in the corners, finding several great PS1 games, which i now have
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII (ok this one sucked)
Final Fantasy Chronicles (now im hopelessly addicted to ChronoTrigger)
Final Fantasy Tactics
Megaman Legends II (one of my favorite games of all time)
AND...DragonBall Z Ultimate Battle 22 (i don't know why i still have this one
So, yea im a final fantasy addict, but still a lot of ps1 games rock! I want to pick legend of dragoons soon
"mishi-hime" Said: i love ps1!!!!!!! mine is greeeen ooooh !
and im a old school gamer girl *pose*
Oh God, PS1 is old school now? I feel old. I must be old, I'm one of those people who call it a PSX.
Metal Gear Solid is still king of my collection, but I also have a few Final Fantasies that get a lot of play time, as well as Vagrant Story (still need to finish it) and the Resident Evils.
I also have the first PS1 Spider-Man game, classic stuff, and the genius Bruce Willis game - Apocalypse.
Driver 1 & 2
Soul Reaver
Dino Crisis
Worms Armageddon
Hogs of War
Well way back when it was time for me to decide to get a PS1 or a N64 i went 64 but now i got a pc good enough to emulate and im addicted to Castlevania SOTN. I was playing FF7 but my pc got messed up and my save of FF7 was deleted and I havent gone back to play it again.
ahh, i remember the old PSX days, imy PS1 is the original HUGE thing that rivals the extreme weight of the Xbox. have slightly come of the RRT4 addiction, PSX, RETRO?!?!? scince when, i still play FF6 on my PS2 for god sake!!!
PS1 was my first game console. I got it for Christmas when I was.... I don't know. Around 7, maybe...
But, yeah, I remember that I used to always play Spyro on it. Now, though, I occasionally go out searching for PS1 games I missed out on and play them on PS2.
You may insult me all you want, but I am a big fan of FF8. Oddly enough, the only Final Fantasy that I've played and not really cared for is Tactics, which alot of people love. But I enjoyed Tactics Advance. Clearly, something is wrong with me.
I got a PSOne kinda late in the game. (I was an N64 kid for a long while) But my first PS game was Rhapsody, the world's only musical RPG. Tomb Raider came free with the system but I never gave that game much of a chance considering I could barely figure out how to make Lara do things like... jump or walk straight.
I still buy and play rpgs, fighting and other quirky games I can find for it. I just got Fear Effect, but I've yet to try it.

Speaks ultimate truth.
I was an N64 kid myself, but given the price of the carts and all that, I kinda wish I went the PSX route. ;x
Plus, the PSX had 2D fighters, which the N64 was severely lacking in.
SFA1-3, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure would have kept me happy for much longer than say, Banjo Kazooie?
But hey, that's just me.

I was kind of like that too. I couldn't get into Tactics much, but reasonbly enjoyed Tactics Advance. And I really enjoyed Tactics Ogre for GBA, which was another series altogether, but it sure seemed better than FF Tactics to me.

Fuck yeah!
Anyway, I got a PS1 specifically to play Final Fantasy VII, but I ended up getting a number of games for it. We (my brothers and I) eventually burned out the primary laser, so we built an elaborate device commonly referred to as an "inclined plane" out of legos so it would sit at an angle and activate the secondary laser system (or whatever it was about putting the thing at an angle to make it read right). Eventually we got a PS2, and that was a lot less hassle.

I've never played Tactics Ogre. The only Strategy RPGs I've ever played are FFT, FFTA, and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Tactics Advance was the only one I ever got in to, though I guess you could count WarCraft III as one....
"Quill" Said: Soon afterwards I got FF VIII and I think that that PSX RPG was the best, no matter what anyone says

Two things: Castlevania:SOTN is very much the most badass.
And our PS1 got screwed over pretty badly, too. Our old dog was sick, and shit all over it.
we decided to lay off the playstation until PS2.
I used to have a saved file of unlocked Selene Fighter (The plane with red color scheme) and all weapons but I lost the damned thing due to HD reformat.
heh, speaking of saved file loss, I wonder how much my brother lost on the FFVII. He had some pretty nifty stuff.
