I've been trying to do my best and reading a lot of these articles, but I'm still having some trouble. Can someone show me how to put colored boxes around my Comments and user Comments so people can read them and how to make the BG of my Next, etc, buttons transparent? My comics at http://www.drunkduck.com/Megamans_Spare_Time/?p=61500 if anyone wants to help.

as for the background coding:

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff">
YOUR COMMENT BOX CODE GOES HERE
</td></tr></table>

And as for your transparent backgrounds, that depends on what program you're using to make the buttons. If its Photoshop, then just delete the black space you have around the buttons where you want the transparent area to be, then save the buttons as .png or .gif.

Hi. You can download IrfanView (at http://www.irfanview.com/). It's a free image viewer software. You can also perform very minor modification to images on it. One of the things you can do with it is to save an image as a GIF file (those images with transparencies are usually GIF files) with a transparent background.

But for you to be able to do this, your original image must have the would-be transparent parts be in one colour. Preferrably, a colour that doesn't appear anywhere else on the image (say bright pink or neon green). Then when you save using Irfanview, save it as a GIF file with the option to select the transparent colour. Then, when prompted, select the weird color you chose to become transparent. And there you have it. An image with a transparent background. Good luck.
