My boyfriend tried to Rick-roll me. He screwed up royally. First he said. "I found a new Transformers 2 trailer. It is here!"

I went to youtube, and since the video was taking its sweet time to load, my eyes strayed around the page.

The first thing that something was amiss was that the video was posted in January. Knowing my boyfriend, I knew he would have seen anything that old by now. (Especially since the description said that this was from the Superbowl which I watched with him.)

The second sign was that the "trailer" had a one and a half star rating. I would expect a higher rating for Transformers.

Third sign was that my boyfriend said April Fools just before the video started playing.

What video was he trying to show you?
Because I've heard rumours about a few bad ones out there....

What you do is you say you have a video of something awesome, then link them to this. Started on 4chan as far as I know.

Okay, a friend of mine watched that video of two girls and one cup, so I really dont want to make the same mistake!

It is nowhere NEAR that bad. It;s just Rick Astley singing his most popular (now) song, and doing a little dance too.

If a april fools prank is prepared and done well it effectivley earns the laughs the prankster would have. But most pranks (especially in the webcomics community *glares at all the webcomic artists who made an april fools comic*) are simply thrown together on the spot, usually detailing something absurd or claiming the comic is ending, and don't even get started on what people will do in person. It makes it incredibley difficult to take anyone seriously on april 1st, wether they're truthful or not.(grumble,grumble...mutter)

Awwww waff, come on! You didn't think my one was just a teeny bit funny?

Also it was not thrown together on the spot! I spent some time and effort working out how I could get the maximum level of stupid all onto a single page.
And though it is not as elaborate as our usual pages, it still uses coloured pencil colouring which took Mrs Vast quite a while.
And it had Obama!
It was certainly not something we rushed out on the day or anything.

well...at least you didn't 'kill off' a character non-canonically or claim you were ending the comic.

But that would be so creative!
