Welcome to the Drunk Duck Review Thread! This is where you sign up to get your comic reviewed.
* You must have reviewed at least 3 other comics.
3 reviews that are of sufficient lengths and quality.
* Your comic must have at least 20 pages to be reviewed.
20 actual comic pages, not counting fillers and covers.
* Your comic must be active and have regular updates.
Preferably at least one or two updates a month.
* No sprite, stickmen, paint comics please.
Exceptions can be made depending on quality and work put into it.
YOUR REVIEWS MUST BE OF SUFFICIENT LENGTH empathizing this, people. Your reviews must give specific example of what you like and dislike about the comic. Do not just say that you don't like the art, write exactly what you don't like about the art. Linking to pages that you think illustrate your points is great.
You can only sign up one comic at a time. If you want to sign up additional comics, or sign your comic up again, you must wait until your first comic has been reviewed.
Any questions can be PQ'ed directly to myself, or brought up here if you think others would benefit from your question.
REVIEW GUIDELINES
ANYONE CAN REVIEW COMICS. You don't have to be a comic god or an amazing artist to write a review. Critics aren't the only people who read comics, and their opinion is just as useful as the opinion of the average Joe.
DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE MEAN. People signing up for this should expect honest critiques to come their way. At the same time, don't flame. Give logical reasons for why you don't like something.
NO NON REVIEW POSTS IN REVIEW THREADS. You are not allowed to comment directly on other people's reviews, the nature of the comic outside of a critical standpoint, or on the comic's author. Stick to the discussion of the comic, only. (Note: if you are the author of the comic being reviewed, you are allowed to respond, but if you start a flame war or whine a lot I will shut you up.)
QUALITY PLEASE. No sprite comics, Megaman/Pokemon etc Original comics with actual ARTWORK only. Making a review of a sprite comic is no fun at all so none of that. The same goes with stick-man comics and general use of MSpaint.
ONLY DRUNK DUCK COMICS. I will make an exception if you are a particularly strong contributer to the community, or if you do a lot of reviews.
Why the heck not? I could use some constructive criticism to get me off my lazy ass. I don't mind being violated by harsh words, all I ask is that you use lube and call me sometime, okay?
In my day, video games gave you three chances to kill about 2000 enemies in one sitting with no pause button. Easy mode meant you got two more lives to throw away on the first boss. You don't know the meaning of hard.
I'll add my request to the list, with a caveat... I know the artwork's good. Michelle's the artist, and she's absolutely FANTASTIC... my question would be about the writing for TTG. Since we only update monthly, I'm curious to know if the story's solid enough to keep you coming back even after a month or more.
At the Dumb Guys Convention (from Pearls Before Swine by Stephan Pastis) Dumb Guy 1: Okay, who wants to play jump off the fifth foot balcony into the swimming pool? Dumb Guy 2: Oh! Oh! I do! jumps off the balcony SPLAT! Dumb Guy 3: This would work SO much better with a swimming pool.
