hey guys, i was wondering, do you ever include newly created comics in the news post?if you do, then i was wondering if you could also throw a blurb up with my Putrid Meat news about a short spin off i created from it today. if that wouldnt fly, it's totally cool.but if ya could it's be appreciated. the comic is DETHRONED.
Normally no, we don't announce new comics. Dozens of new comic accounts are created on DD every day, and most of them don't go anywhere after 2 or 3 pages (if they get any at all). Constantly directing people towards comics that have only 1 or 2 pages (because they're new) is going to piss people off eventually and they'll stop clicking. So, as a general rule, we just don't do it.
HOWEVER, if you have a 'legitimate' newspost (like your 100-page announcement) then we can piggyback a bit of your other news onto it. :]
Now that I think about it, didn't there used to be a feature on the front page that showed newly created comics?
you know why birds don't write their memoirs? because birds don't lead epic lives, that's why. who'd want to read what a bird does? nobody. that's who.
Following on from what Skoolmonkee said....maybe comics that have less then 5 pages and haven't updated in a year should just be deleted?
I know there is a general sense of "dont delete stuff" but I think with those criteria, you would only be clearing out stuff that has been forgotten by its authors and everyone else.

Comic euthanasia! C'mon mods, all the cool sites are doing it!
I'm inclined to agree with Harkovast, though I wouldn't know how you could go about it delicately, other than send an e-mail to the given address saying "hey, you want your shit still on this site? Then SPEAK UP"
It would make it much easier for active comics to be noticed... well maybe...
...I dunno. But it doesn't sound like THAT bad of an idea.

That feature was here a long time ago. Comics that hadn't updated for a year were deleted. Come new year, every single comic was deleted. Everyone had to start again, so no, I doubt that will ever happen.
Also people with finished comics would have to keep reactivating it, and that would be annoying!
ALWAYS WATCHING.
What's your favourite type of signature?
Mine's chocolate! Mmm...Ha ha ha!
I think what they're trying to say is comics with only one or two pages that have no complete story arc and haven't been updated in a year should be deleted. Not someones comic that's over 10 pages and tells a whole story. These are definately worth keeping even if they've been around for years. Is there a problem with weeding them out?
