My husband finds it disturbing that I have an Alan avatar here on DD. Is that weird? I just love that drawing, maybe my favorite I ever did of him and on page 13 it's freaking blurry!! So... I thought I'd get some milage out of it as an avatar.

I am a woman incase there was confusion... I can, uh, switch over to Bea if need be.

I like being Nathan Hale while I'm on iChat with my husband but he refuses to blow me e-kisses unless I switch over to a female avatar. Internet relationships... so complicated.

I don't think you're crazy, I know lots of girls who have boys in their avatar, myself included on many occasions, and one or two guys who have a girl avatar. It's not strange to want to use your favorite character or a favorite picture as your avatar or your icon. Would you only use a girl (or boy for guys) avatar that looks just like you? Really, your avatar is a picture that you like.

It's not bad, I think chalosan (boy) uses his character, Mora Linda, as his DevArt icon. Lots of people use icons that don't match their gender. ^__^

I'll call you "he" no matter what avatar you use, though, sorry, I'm just bad with pronouns. You can have "I AM A BOY" plastered all over your avatar/signature/etc. and I'll still say "Oh, yeah, she and I were talking about that..." I'll try not to, honest! I just will.

I don't think it is different than people who use animals, symbols, or anything else besides their own photo (which is probably a dumb idea...). It's just something you like,

If you like Alan better than Bea, so be it.

I dig the avatar.

What's more, I like the fact that someone used the name 'Alan' and he's not a total scumbag. Or is that still coming? Damn, I KNEW it was too good to be true....

Haha, I know whats its like. My husband does the same thing whenever I have an avatar of some guy character that I like, but usually only when we're rping. Back then people thought I was a guy and I never noticed until a year or so later. Talk about some major shock among my internet friends. :D

Don't care what you use for an avatar as long as you draw it. You make some of the best eye candy anywhere!

Hmmm. I have a 'guy' avitar. I hadn't thought about it. It's just a random piece of art that I liked and a character from my story....maybe I should update the avitar. Whatever-eh? As for Dreamer, I'm finding the story quite enchanting and the art and visual banquet! Lovely. Looking forwarding to reading and seeing more. Good job!

Haha. Same here. I wondered how I'd look as a monkey, drew it, liked the picture, put it up as an avatar, and only then I realized that "bearded monkey" wil probably make people think I'm a guy. Heheh. I feel sneaky now.

... I used to have a John Adams avatar on instant messanger, no one seemed to notice it. Either that or all my friends were just so used to my ranting about history that they figured it was just better not to encourage that sort of conversation.
