I decided it was time to bring in more former syndicate members. The red hair and freckles were the starting point for her. There were no red-headed characters and only one (Tucker) with freckles. Pepper was originally missing an eye and a few fingers, but it looked odd, so I took the whole arm off. While developing Pepper and Dozer, I made a mental list of the different "career options" afforded by the syndicate. It was an easy list to come up with from Detective Conan, Lupin III, and mafia movies. I already had a getaway driver, safe cracker, and assassins. (I nearly created a bookie, but that will have to wait for another day.)

I had seen many episodes of Detective Conan with bombers, and found that whole mindset so unique. It's a very detached approach to human life, claiming many bystanders but managing to not feel as responsible as meeting your victim in person and shooting or stabbing him. A spunky but callous girl would fit that, especially when I consider the cases of psychotic teen bombers and the idiotic bomb scares that take place in high schools. With that in mind, I made Pepper younger than Seiko. Since the syndicate fell 5 years earlier, Pepper was only 17 at the time (and younger when employed). What a perfect age to develop that hardened killer attitude! I know that her personality is not so obvious in the story, but Pepper is one of the most self-serving individuals. She was an angry and frustrated kid that was molded into a proper young psychopath. The syndicate used her, and she had very few chances to be "good." She's a product of her environment. But she's still a true villain.

Lol. She needs generous make-up to be a hooker! Actually, I wanted her outfit to suggest "pirate barbie." Originally, I was going to put a jolly roger on her shirt -- but this fits better with her twisted sense of humor. I believe she sees herself as a pirate, and even moreso now than she used to!

Heh, there's no "machine." The methods are far less sci-fi (actually a combo of things). Raidon is wealthy but not insanely so. Eric has more money than he does, and the Hardings are probably close to his equals.

I sorta did that at the beginning of my story. I started with three characters and then started connecting them. After that, it was just throwing in extras where needed and some of them evolved afterward. I think it has actually helped my story because many of the main characters look very plain and average, while the real "characters" never join the cast.

Glad I'm not the only one that says (oh look, I don't have any/many red heads, I should make another one)

I used to just design characters and assign them roles in the story. Or make up stories for them. But now I seem to make up the story and the characters are designed from that.

Young minds are so easy to warp. Teenage characters are perfect for the roles of murderers. They still think they are invincible for the most part. Heck, she may still think she's invincible! She survived a blast and only lost an arm and an eye.

Obviously nothing can kill her!!! Raidon could have at least used his wealth to get her a cybernetic arm. I mean if he can afford memory erasing machines out of acts of kindness he can certainly give a young girl a hand (pun intended)

I told myself I wouldn't say it but I can't resist...

um...
heh
she looks like a hooker with that street corner background and how she's dressed ~ sorry XD
