Brad is another "extra" who ended up with a much larger role. The reason his physical features are somewhat undistinguished and unremarkable is that he was just one of many police officers that appeared on the scene to apprehend Fudo and Tim. Brad received a name just to point out that Yuki was well-acquainted with the local cops. After that, however, two things happened. My friend Bethany showed no enthusiasm (or recognition) for my plans to couple Yuki with Tristan, and she misinterpreted Brad as someone more significant to Yuki -- an old friend or boyfriend. So I changed my plans accordingly, and two of my three ladies had suitors. (I later came up with one for Kaida, but he changed from my plans too. o_0 )

Brad is the only one of the main protagonists not to have been injured by Fudo. I liked the idea of keeping him cheerfully free of any injury for the entire story, but he recently broke that streak by breaking his leg.

And I don't remember Kaida confessing about killing Yuki's fiance. I must have missed that part somehow.

Page 517. I actually rewrote the dialogue after the page was posted because it wasn't obvious enough. It's still subtle, but it's there. (Not something Kaida would state in plain English.)

It's interesting how you gauge your friend's and family for story rewrites.

Yuki is based on Bethany, so she gets a kick out of it. ~_^ Actually, my sister recently expressed a little sadness that I didn't base a character on her. I went back through my story, and we found one that matches her a little too well (Violet).

QUOTE:
It's surprising that Yuki doesn't have more suitors actually.

Well, no *serious* suitors. She did leave the Halloween party with a random guy who wanted to take her to a bar, and there was Curtis at the beach. Yuki has had lots of male companionship, but usually no more than a couple days. I intended to make this a more prominent theme, but Yuki's personal life ends up off screen most of the time.

She actually has a solid reason for avoiding Brad's advances. (Some of it might be airheadedness, but Yuki's really not *that* oblivious.) I haven't delved into their relationship/motives much yet, but I plan to.

Though Kaida wins for the most screwed up suitors.

Yes. Yes she does. XD But any sane normal man wouldn't come near Kaida. I think the only guy that isn't at least a little afraid of her is Alex.

Hey, to go through near 700 pages of Used Books with only a broken leg to show is pretty good.
It'd be like making it through 700 pages of my comic without DYING XD

It's interesting how you gauge your friend's and family for story rewrites. The only people that talk to me about my comic are here on DD :P

It's got to suck to have a guy crazy girl like Yuki ignoring your attractions. I'd call that a HINT. It's surprising that Yuki doesn't have more suitors actually.

She seems to have the least of the 3 women. Though Kaida wins for the most screwed up suitors.
