You might recall that the bookstore borders the park. Also worth noting is that this is still the same day that Pepper visited the store and Kaida isn’t around. So, Seiko has had an eventful day (although not as eventful as Mike had).
I saw Star Trek yesterday. First movie I've seen in a long time. I won't give anything away, but I enjoyed it. I was tickled by the Arthur Conan Doyle quote. (I always did liken Spock to Holmes...)
I hate to do this, but there won't be any pages next week. I'm going to the mountains to train for my job, and I might not have internet access. (I believe we are staying in cabins.) Since I have been pretty good about keeping to my schedule and commenting on other people's comics, I wanted to give you a heads-up before I "vanish." Don't start checking the morgues for me just yet. Pages will resume on the 26th. (I also have a special extra to share in my absence. I hope you enjoy it.)
n_y_japlander: Fun is in the eye of the beholder. XD
Warpedwenger: I'd listen to her too. Not because she's sexy but because she's scary.
ghostrunner: o_0
Tantz: Lol. How true! Meredith would prefer it that way, but that wasn't her assignment. Plus, who says they're done using Mike? ;-)
Peipei: At least he's safe for the time being.
Jonko: I'm not doing it! The bad guys are. ;-) The boys do tend to get it worse than the girls, I'm afraid.
LanceDanger: No indeed.
patrickdevine: If he was still freelancing, Ronnie wouldn't hesitate. He's at least smart enough to know who's calling the shots. (And you're right. It's not a matter of mercy but strategy.) As for Ronnie's aim, he might be a braggart more than anything. Most of his killings were point-blank in-the-back sorts of things.
amanda: What's not to be happy about? He's on the winning team!
trevor: I don't read movie reviews. Ruins movies for me. I have a much better time going to a movie with no expectations at all (even without knowing the cast or plot if I can).
JustNoPoint: Or the start of their great success? XD Meredith does a good job keeping her hooligans in line, but she is sort of Raidon's lap dog (which will be even more apparent in a few pages).
IMAX movies rock! I've only been to educational ones in museums (like the Smithsonian and Carnegie). We don't have any around here.
DAJB: I'm sure she already has the leash and shock collar. XD I think her show would be on one of those... premium channels.
n_y_japlander: Yeah, Mike is more foolhardy than cowardly 99% of the time. He was only doing what Fudo told him to (running away). Oh, and my job is still new enough that I enjoy it. ;-)
Net: Wow. Thanks. I don't think I could read that fast, and I wrote the darn thing!
JustNoPoint: Maybe it's just me, but I think people are more willing to be sympathetic to friends than family. We help family too, but it's more obligatory and grudgingly.
I couldve come up with great chibi theater, but this title was renamed from what it was, so there were none on the original scan. And I was rushing to meet some (work) deadlines. I regret not drawing some chibis in. -_- If I did, it would probably be in the context of sports and Seiko getting picked last (short geek girls don't excell at basketball). Maybe extrapolate to Yuki wanting to play on the "skins" team. -- Sigh, it wouldn've made for good chibi theater...
This page reminds me of what I go through at home when I have to deal with family issues. Except I'm not female and am usually a lot less sympathetic =P
The Imax wasn't as spectacular as I thought it would be actually. Must be me @_@
amanda: Two considerations are involved. 1. The bookstore is on the edge of the park. He could have run there by happenstance. And 2. We are talking about seeking help for Fudo, who has a somewhat limited circle of friends...
Tantz: Thanks. I'll try. ;-)
trevor: Of course I recognize actors, directors, etc., but I still have a better time when I don't. I'd prefer to be completely immersed in the fictional world. Big names can ruin the illusion, regardless of how talented they are.
I'm too into the movie scene to not know who's attached to a flick. I stay in circles that require me to know - and I enjoy knowing. I can talk at length about the difference in cinematography for Usual Suspects vs. Serenity, for example.
I even have some rudimentary knowledge about lenses....
I was pleased with the quote in Star Trek, too. Glad you got to see it! I like that, of all the people Mike could go to, he went to Seiko - although, in the past, she's been a pretty good person to have around during an incident.
Jonko: It wasn't my original plan to hurt the boy, but I figured he'd be pulling at those cuffs very forcefully. (The thought occured to me when I was watching an old Shelock Holmes movie, and Holmes was wiping blood off his wrist after freeing himself from a handcuffed predicament.)
LanceDanger: Thanks. I've never been to that park, so it should be a nice experience.
Ouch!!! That hand does look super painful... Those handcuffs sure can dig into you're wrists. I hope you have fun in the mountains, even though it's for work. Hopefully there aren't many mosquitoes out yet!
(Replying in comments since I'll be gone next week.)
Warped and Peipei: If you looked closely, you'd have seen that Mike was desperately trying to free himself from the cuffs whenever Meredith was looking away. Probably a lot of pulling on his wrist and contorting his fingers. He didn't realize that he was causing himself injury at the time.
ghostrunner: I have to be in bed before midnight for my job. -_- I miss being able to sleep until noon.
