For any chronology junkies, this chapter takes place probably around a week after the previous one. (Seiko is over her cold, and gives a quick summary here of what everyone is up to.) In case you need a refresher on Pepper, she was introduced on page 630. -- Oh, and that book is not "Norm," it's "N or M." Go read it. ~_^ (Read "The Secret Adversary" first for greatest enjoyment.)
I joined the Writers Studio and will be formally joining the Convergence Art Guild. I'm tired of being perpetually alone in my room, and the people in these groups are very talented and inspiring.
ghostrunner: Sounds more like Kaida's kind of store.
Tantz: So true. A good manipulator will make sure you have only the evidence he wants you to have.
DAJB: Shades does such a good job of combining the action and dialogue that I don't think there's much risk of that. I used to write ten to twenty page story arcs back when I updated everyday. The latest arc is actually closer to 100 pages, and now I'm updating twice a week, so it REALLY feels like it drags.

Peipei: Brad and Yuki were childhood friends, so he's always watching out for her, but Yuki is very stubborn. She's not one to concede defeat.
amanda: Yeah. She let herself become emotional (probably some combination of bike + Brad) and lost her cool. It's so totally on now.
LanceDanger: She'd much rather be the queen than a pawn. ~_^
patrick: Those are two separate cases. The attacks on Yuki were specifically non-fatal. (Antifreeze is nearly non-toxic in small doses.) However, the attack on Seiko was intended to be fatal, which is apparent from Raidon's conversation with Meredith. -- But you're right. Raidon's main goal was to get Kaida on his side, and he has succeeded. ~_^
JustNoPoint: Lol. Let's go get rich right now! It can't be that hard. XD And yes, it is safer to be a bad guy around here. Raidon takes good care of his henchmen, gets them out of legal trouble and everything. That's one reason Kaida is drawn to him. -- Plus, some of the good guys are saps and don't fight back no matter how they're pushed.
Jonko: She was teaching English in Tatayama. She was really lonely, though. Tatayama is a rural area. She ended up adopting a stray kitten to keep her company. (The kitten is being transported here soon.) She spent Christmas in Kyoto with her boyfriend. (He lives in Australia. She visited him afterward.)
Scorpious: True. Yuki hasn't really thought of "us" and "them" much (or at least, defines it differently). Brad, however, finds the world easier to understand in black and white.
"I'm glad you're alone," said Pepper. "I thought we could do pretty, pretty princess MAKEOVERS!" At that, Pepper pulled a mirror out from behind her back.
I really like Seiko's shirt. I must venture forth and find one!
By the way good luck with those groups you just joined, they seem like they might be fun! I keep meaning to ask you if you'd want to work on a short story project with me but we're both fairly busy at the moment.
Wait a sec-- does Pepper have a Fudo-knife? I think she does. You can take her Seiko, pacifist or not! She's only got one hand and one eye, you've got two hands a four eyes!
