I've been having some trouble developing good habits to get my comicking life squared away.

Part of the problem is that pesky 40 hour a week job that keeps cropping up.
The rest of it has to do with my inability to quit volunteering for things that I can't necessarily do.

Case in point: I have theatre obligations filling my nights this week. Not that this is a bad thing, mind you, but one would think that if I were truly serious about the comics, I wouldn't be so keen to work on other things elsewhere.

Of course, there is the whole, "making a living", and "advancing one's professional career" to consider.

It is very hard to look at webcomics and say "I'm going to do this for a living", and be capable of following through. You have to be dedicated, earnest, professional, and willing to work for next to nothing for years before it gets you anywhere.

I'm taking the approach of "it's a hobby", I admit, but part of that is due to the fact that I don't think I'm quite there, in regards to my art or stories meet standards that I feel are worth paying for.

At least, I'm not there yet.

The month of November is going to be an exciting time. Check back often, because the newest version of Under CONstruction is due to accost the internet towards the end.

And know that I will be frantically working my ass off to get it to that point. O.o

[mormo]- I'd take that advice, except I don't smoke, and I hate the smell of 'em. I would love any other suggestions, though. ^-^
