Hi El Cid - thanks man! Well, those crumbly gray lines show up in my black and white stuff, too...there's a problem with my lineart, which is scanned...maybe I'm not adjusting the particulars properly, either before or after scanning...the colors ARE under the lineart, but the issue you bring up is a regular one with me. Nonetheless, thanks and I'll try and figure that out, to crispy up those lines!

UNSOLICITED ADVICE ALERT! I'm making a blind guess here, but it looks like you're coloring all on the same layer, which is probably why you're ending up with those dodgy gray areas around your linework. You should get better results if you instead make the linework a Multiply layer (so that the black areas are opaque and the white areas are transparent), and then do your coloring on the layer underneath. That should eliminate those gray areas!
