Page lucky 13! Battle page! WOOT!! 0o0
So much for keeping the violence quota to a minimum.
As I said from the outset, this issue is more decompressed than I'm used to, and it's pages like this one that are the cause. I know a lot of folks don't like splash type pages where little in the way of story occurs, (save for head-busting), but the last couple of stories were so action-free, I thought a change was in order.
Issue #8 will be another actioner, this time with a Halloween-themed super-villain in the mix, and a special cameo by a (faux)pop-culture icon. It should be the best yarn so far.
Truthfully, the best is yet to come in this series. I haven't even scratched the surface with these characters. Skip's romantic issues with Jo, played for grins so far, have yet to be addressed, as have their potential conflict with the Government and military. There's lots of seedy Cold War stuff and sinister plots boiling behind the scenes that haven't come out yet. And the king super-villain, the Doctor Doom of this little malt-shop universe, is still waiting in the wings.
And don't forget Crabby. He wants another yarn to star in, too!
Anyhoo, lots of stuff coming. BIG stuff! Hopefully, the changeover won't mess things up too bad. If so, I'll be at Comic Fury, too.

I also want to compliment how you gradually zoomed in on the combatants with each successive panel. It was a very effective technique to heighten the impact of the scene.
