The Legend of Abraham begins, with artwork by Olivia Kasle and original story by me, Trevor Mueller. This is the first prequel to the Temple storyline, and it will update weekly on Mondays. Friday will remain Fan Art Friday.

I hope you enjoy this fairy-tale ride, which will answer many questions left over from the original story.

Jabali: Thanks for checking out the page!

Fitz: Olivia's artwork is flat-out awesome! I absolutely love her stuff, and can't wait to work on more projects with her (in fact, we're already starting the process for Temple: Genocide, another prequel story).

Olivia's already shown she's really good with faces/characters. This page proves she's just as good with backgrounds and landscapes. Looking forward to her first page! :)

Doctor Shadow: Thank you, my friend, and I think it's going to be a very interesting ride - as this story is going to be very different from the previous one. More like a children's fairy tale, or a bed time story, in both look and feel. A breath of fresh air, I think, between stories. Also, very necessary for the future stories that I want to tell - both for the prequels and sequel(s).

usedbooks: Oh, it's already been brought! :P

DSNG: I know! Olivia brought the idea to use water colors, and I thought it could work for the fairy-tale story, and then she showed me the concept work...and I was floored!

Mister Kent: She has a very unique style, I think, and I love the stuff that she's been doing for this book. Although some of her early action pages look a little stiff to me (you'll see eventually), she losens up quite a bit before the end...which is absolutely awesome!

Not to pat myself on the back or anything... ;P

DAJB: The things she can do with watercolor is mind-boggling to me. Just wait for Monday's first page, where I introduce the narrator of the prequels...!

Peipei: I'm can't say that it's more happy, but it's certainly less bloody. I told her off the bat that I wanted a kid-friendly fairy-tale look and feel, and I tried to match the story to that as best as I could. But you be the judge, and let me know.

harryq: Oh, I'll bring it on, good sir! In fact, it's already been brought! [/Not Another Teen Movie reference] ;)

patoborracho: Thank you, sir. I apologize for not getting your fan art up in time for last week, but it will go up this week! I have it queued up already! :D

CoyoteLongshot: Ah yes, if only my skills at fonts were better...or if I had more confidence in my abilities to write within little narration boxes with Japanese-looking fonts. I do have a few fonts that look like traditional Japanese brush strokes.

kyupol: This story will have a different artist: Olivia Kasle. She's a good friend of mine who just graduated from SCAD, and was looking for some portfolio pieces - and I was looking for an artist to do some work for my prequels. I'll be doing the artwork again on Bushido, and then Olivia wants to do more work for other stories. We'll see how it goes. I've enjoyed working with her so far.

JustNoPoint: I just got lucky, I guess. Wednesday won't have updates for this story, I'm afraid. Too much updating between this comic and @$$hole! has me feeling a little overwhemled at the moment. However, Fridays will still be Fan Art Friday / Sketches.

TheMidge28: Thanks dude, I really dig her stuff too! Just you want to see some of the stuff that she pulls off - it's going to be vastly different from my own work, and a breath of fresh air.

amanda: It's a complicated story with a complicated mood...on the cover...for the characters...and the tone and stuff....yeah. ;)

exile: You at least got a little preview of this page on Saturday at the BBQ, sir. Now I just need to get to work on the text for the completed pages, and make sure this bad boy updates on time. ;)

Lucky devil, getting a co artist to assist in another story. What happens on Wednesdays now? Or is it 1 update a week with fan art friday?

Looking forward to it.

Wow, love the watercolor-on-parchment style, it feels very "traditional japanese". All you need now is a sumi ink brush and you're good to go. :) Can't wait for this.
