Thanks for the warm birthday wishes, gang! I've been celebrating for most of the weekend (had a Movie Night celebration on Friday, went to go see a play on Saturday, had dinner with the family on Sunday, I'm going out tonight with my friends, and tomorrow I'll be working on more web comics)! It's been a blast! Now on to the questions / comments: ShinGen: The swordsman is indeed stubborn and uncompromising, and there is a reason for it. He may come around eventually, but will it be in time to redeem himself and by how much will he come around are the questions..... Fitz: Yeah, you're only a year and some change older than I, chico. ;) The swordsman is uncompromising and stubborn, and he's not likely to change his ways just because a small group of people want him to. His attitude doesn't change just because he;s trust into some group dynamics. However, it does change the way the group is and sees things, I think - it's a fresh pair of eyes in a group that otherwise sees the exact same thing the exact same way. The swordsman does not like Tojin, period. Just because a few people told him he should isn't going to change his mind overnight.... kyupol: Your sensei had a nasty scar down the side of his face, too? :P Midge: Yes, the photo backgrounds are not going to be changing anytime soon, but I work to make sure that they at least contrast / compliment the line art. I think this page works pretty well because the background is mostly darker, and the characters very light - again, I don't shade when the characters are in the day light. Although, I do like the swordsman with those black pants.... And a present, you say? Happy birthday, old man ;) (said the 27 year old, hehehe) I like this page. I like this page A LOT. I like how the Swordsman remains himself, basically. Won't reconsider, won't forgive, won't be nice just because he's in the team now. The backgrounds look good, they don't stand out against the drawn characters.
