Did anyone see it coming? The Man with Beady Eyes is a creepy freakin' character in my mind, to be able to stab a girl in the ribs with a smile on his face.
Oh, in the event that you're not counting, Temple turns 200 today! We're a little bit beyond half way in this second prequel story, and I think the stories trucking along pretty well. Your thoughts?
So I'm trying to figure out if I want to continue with the prequels a little longer before diving into the Holy War sequel storyline, or put the remaining prequel stories into the Holy War storyline in flashbacks or something. Any preferences? I know that the prequels help fill in the some blanks and explain some back story on the world and the characters, so I don't want to avoid doing them completely.
Anyway, I'm recovering from sun burn from the weekend (bald head + no sunblock = ouch), so I'll see you all next week.
cyberdog: Thanks for checking out the comic, and I'm glad you enjoy it enough to go through the archives. I'll be sure to check out your comic in turn (but I'll probably leave you feedback on there). ;)
PIT_FACE: I don't think he ever intended to bargain, I think he intended to kill them both. Kidjo's just that sick sadistic kind of guy.
Congrats on 100 pages! I'll have to try to get Olivia to give me pages faster so it's more difficult for you to catch up. Nothing wrong with a little friendly challenge. :P
whoa, the bad guy acctually STABS the hostage, that's actually kinda refreshing, seeing as how most people like ussually seem to be bluffing, only thing now is he aint got nothing to bargain with. he's TOAST! and also, cangratz on yer 200! [old man!]i'll catch ya when the next 100 roll around!
patoborracho: Well, Holy War would be a story in and of itself. Like the original Temple, it would have a beginning, middle, and ending. It wouldn't be on-going. Not forever, anyway. But it could dive into some of the flashbacks - even if only summarized on a few pages.
I dunno, I'm in debate about it. But open to doing either.
DAJB: Well, why would you have two women who could fight you when you never planned to let either of them live in the first place?
Doctor Shadow: It's the only strategic thing to do in that situation.
Peipei: Honestly, I debated whether or not she would be in one piece when Sophia showed up in the first place. But then I thought about the character and how arrogant he is, and I figured that she's be alive and they'd both be alone.
usedbooks: Thanks for reading!
armandoB: Seriously, talk about a cold move.
ghostrunner: I know, right? In truth, he was never going to let either of them live. However, we'll see if Sophia is able to get the better of him....
Darwin: Kidjo (the man with beady eyes) is a vicious bastard who's rather arrogant and over-confident in his abilities. However, he does have a disadvantage that Sophia may be able to exploit....
As for the prequels, I may do another or two, but the fact is that I kind of want to get into the sequel and wrap this sucker up. I've been working on this comic for 8 years now, and it may be time to get a little closure and move on. However, Holy War would easily take us over a year to tell, so this comic isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
amanda: Actually, this is a little gross, but I spent last night in the shower removing my peeling scalp from the sunburn. :P And I think Sophia is an idealist and an optimist, and she was thinking that she could rescue her sister no problem....
khard12: Agreed. Why would you throw the sister aside to fight Sophia knowing full well that 1) you're not going to get what you want out of her, and 2) that the sister could get up and join in the fray? Especially if you never planned to let either of them live....
Janen: Okay good. I was afraid that people would see that coming from a mile away. I always like things like this to drop a jaw.
mattchee: Thanks for reading!
harryq: Thanks for reading!
Brogan: Thanks for reading!
Jabali: We'll find out if he killed her in the next few pages, actually. I'll admit that I teared up a bit writing the next several pages. This is where the story hit home for me, because it went from being a story about justice to being a story about personal revenge.
