You could call me a busy beaver. I’ve been working hard on several pitches for the past few months, and it’s been keeping me extremely busy. On top of that, I’ve been working on getting ready for the first round of conventions for the year (NYCC in February, ACEN and Motor City Comic Con in May, and Wizard World Chicago in August), as well as job hunting. I’m told that because of the economy right now, there’s a temporary hiring freeze at most advertising agencies, which kind of sucks but wasn’t entirely unexpected.

I’m keeping at the job hunt every day, though, and trying like mad to move out of Michigan (there are more opportunities outside of this state right now, which mainly centers around the automobile industry…which, let’s face it, isn’t doing so hot right now. Give it some time, though, and it will turn itself around). I’ve enjoyed living here, but it had always been the plan to move out for at least 3-5 years and get a change of location under my belt (and who knows, find a place that I can call my “home away from home”), and if I felt like doing so later down the road, possibly returning. But first thing’s first: getting a job. I can’t really move somewhere before I have the job secured – that would be a bit of a gamble – but not many places are willing to hire someone who lives far away for fear that they may have to pay (or help pay) for my relocation. While that’s certainly appreciated, in this economy right now it’s not expected.

I’ll be at the New York City Comic Con (NYCC) this week, so be sure to stop by the Digital Pimp booth and say hello.

JustNoPoint: Glad that you were able to catch up, and I agree with you: Olivia's artwork has really been improving by leaps and bounds.

Wow, that perspective is rocking! I really love the art in this story. (And the story too of course ^^)

I'll be following it again now that I'm caught up!

usedbooks: Thanks, I really dig the airport design, and spent an amount of time on it with Olivia.

Doctor Shadow: Thanks man. I really wanted to give people that feeling of "awe" when they first walk into an impressive building. This is going to be a smaller airport, compared to a few others that will appear much later in the series.

Peipei: Glad you dig it. The perspective was very important to give people that first inspiring impression of the place. A lot of work went into the design, too. I was very happy with how this page turned out.

amanda: Lorice will come back in another story, and we'll find out about his ultimate fate. He ties back into our story directly!

ghostrunner: Thanks, glad you dig it. NYCC is going to be a blast!

armandoB: Thanks, glad you like it!

patoborracho: Olivia's artwork keeps getting better and better!

kyupol: I think Olivia had a lot of difficulty initially envisioning what I wanted to do here, so we had a few meetings and I showed her some example pictures (of the Eiffel Tower and from a few video games), and she caught on. I'm sure it was tough to draw, though - I couldn't have done it.

harryq: Thanks man. If it grabs you off the bat, then it did its job!

patrickdevine: Lorice doesn't think quite like that. I don't think he realizes how much danger he's in.

Warpedwenger: Thanks. Olivia spent a lot of time on this page, and I think it shows.

Jabali: If you could attend NYCC, I would buy you a beer. Good luck with your projects for megacon, and let me know how it goes.

mattchee: Thanks for the compliment on the page. Job hunting does suck right now, especially since I've basically applied for every job that I'm qualified for. I'm applying faster than they can post the jobs. This is what I get for being efficient. ;)

Have funat WonderCon, and let me know how it goes.

Maybe Lorice should go with them, after all it is his ship. And he's got those Bishops after him so hanging around the ladies that beat up Bishops before breakfast might be a good idea.

Nice design! And good for Lorice, being all grateful ^.^ Now that the bishops are after him, he's going to have a difficult time hiding. Has he joined them, or is he holed up somewhere?
