A nice scenic shot of the Valley. Who would have thought that people once dwelled here, eh? This is mostly a set up for the next page, which jump-starts our story with a furious passion. The ride will be fast, hard, and intense - just the way I like it. ;)
Olivia did an fantastic job on that cathedral in the background, slaving for the better part of 2 weeks on designing it. Many of the designs this time around I wanted to her to be a part of, to help put her fingerprint on the world that I've been crafting for the last...oh goodness...5 to 7 years!
Jabali: Yeah, the little details were important, I thought. Establishing the things that people do on a regular basis in the area. The thing that I regret not having established is that the Valley is so massive a place, that there could be towns and farms within it. I tried to show some of that in the length that they journey through the place. However, I think an updated map would also be helpful.
OfftheGrid: Thanks. Olivia, my artist, was hard at work on this design for some time. She has a lot of great stuff up her sleeve yet.
usedbooks: Olivia went to SCAD to study illustration, so she excels at pictures like this - it's what she went to school for, and it shows.
amanda: Sophia will have a fast-paced and intense storyline that is sure to knock your socks off (and hopefully win a few more DD Award nominations next year). ;)
patoborracho: I know, the background detail that Olivia put into this page really makes the page stand out.
Doctor Shadow: Thanks. Olivia has been slaving over the details on her pages lately. Her work continues to improve my leaps and bounds.
krrack knut: Thanks, I was a big fan of the detail that Olivia put into the design as well. She has a lot more detailed backgrounds coming up - as well as some sweet story elements, to boot.
Peipei: Thanks for reading!
DarkSpire: More on the way, buddy. The comic updates every Monday, and the story's going to last a good 50+ pages. So there will be plenty of pages for some time yet. Enjoy!
DAJB: Glad you dig it, buddy!
kyupol: It's true that I haven't established a year in the story, so it's easier to base it off of points of reference that the reader is already familiar with. I think Star Wars does this as well. I'm sure a lot of sci-fi or fantasy stories do as well.
mattchee: I also enjoy how busy the page is, and Olivia did a fantastic job adding that precious detail which makes this page so spectacular.
Mister Kent: Thanks, glad you dig it.
Warpedwenger: It's true. Usedbooks does a great job on her own, especially for the noir comic that she does. Amazing stuff.
Brogan: Thanks man, glad you like it!
Darwin: I have no patience for that level of detail either, which is why I'm not doing the artwork on this comic right now. Her level of detail and commitment is far beyond what I could do for the artwork.
ghostrunner: Thanks, man. Olivia does some great stuff all around.
