So, when people are kind enough to order my print books I offer to draw a sketch for them, so long as they understand that it could delay their shipments.

These sketches are done in blue pencil and then inked directly onto the original. As a result, they lack some of the polish of the regular pages, but they are fun for me to do and I often let loose in the sketch in a way I can't in the comic.

With the handful of sketches that were requested this time around, I did my best to draw sketches that could conceivably be part of Arr-Kelonian canon.

The above text was written specifically for the online comic, and is the interpretation of the sketch that I had in mind as I was drawing it. Since these sketches were posted prior to shipping the books, it is conceivable that the people who ordered them will be seeing them here for the first time.

In this sketch, I was asked to draw a picture of Bikk doing his "navigator things", with the Ronson action figure included somewhere.

Now, anyone who knows their "The Gods of Arr-Kelaan" trivia knows that all of the Ronson paraphanalia that Bikk brought with him on the pirate ship has either been destroyed or Sephin has it. Therefore, this image had to pre-date the accident that catapulted the Competent Offender and The Traveller into the Arr-Kelonian universe. Here we have Bikk preparing for selling his idea to Salsmen.

I don't think that ending is bad at all. It could be sort of like the ending of Big O!, where fans get their minds absolutely blown. White light, the end.

Sijo: Unfortunately this - and a couple of flashbacks in "Going Home" - are the only bits of "pre-god" stories that I've done.

I've considered writing a prose novel about all of the characters prior to and up to the crash, but the ending seems inevitably flat - the ships disappear from Earth's universe and crash on Arr-Kelaan. I'm still toying with it a bit.

NoOne: The action figure was created when Ronson was happily married and an financial leader. His apathy and alcoholism started after Emily died.

Small grammatical error: "convince him to proceed". Not that big a deal, just pointing it out.

Question: Where can I find the story of the characters before they became gods? Is it online, or only in comic form?

Shouldn't Ronson's doll technically be an inaction figure?
