Okay, that's it for guest art, for sketches and doodles, and for scrounging around for stuff I have laying around.

On Tuesday, April 4, 2006, my fourth book: "The Gods of Arr-Kelaan: Consequences" will start its online incarnation.

What is "Consequences"? Well, it's my attempt to tie up a bunch of hanging plot threads (though I'll probably dangle a few more in the process). Answers to a great many questions will be answered.

This is not the book I intended to write. I intended to make "Consequences" a loosely connected group of short stories. But the muse has sent it in a different direction - although with much of the same stories I had intended to include.

The short stories that I have written in the anthologies (Drunk in Public, Drunk and Disorderly and the upcoming Drunk with Laughter ... so far) will NOT be part of the "Consequences" storyline as I had originally intended. I think I will compile them all when I have enough and call it "Tales of Arr-Kelaan", since they deal mostly with the mortals that interact with the gods. If I can figure out a fair way to do it, there's a good chance that I will even include work from other artists (though only if they want to do an Arr-Kelaan story) in that work. If I'm really lucky, "Tales of Arr-Kelaan" will actually print before "Consequences" finishes.

How long will "Consequences" run? I'm not sure, to tell you the truth. There are three major storylines I want to tell, and I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to keep and what I'm going to cut.

Oh yeah...one of the storylines is a Ronson story, since you seem to like him.

Quote " SpANG":

(" I think it should just read "Chuck Rowles" not "by Chuck Rowles", though. ")

Or have "A story by Chuck Rowles"

Personally I think its nice that there mentioned in that manner, Don’t feel that it takes any of the focus away from Author (Chuck); more the opposite.

Small tributes like that shows that he cares :D

Well, personally, I wouldn't really care if you got rid of that line.
Writers should get credit on the front of a book. Not the suporting staff.
It looks a little hokey.

As long as there are credits are inside the book, I'm fine with it. I think it should just read "Chuck Rowles" not "by Chuck Rowles", though.

;O)

Yeah, it seems odd to me as well. But it wasnt' meant as a slight or an insult to the rest of the team.

The rest of the Rubber Mallet Team - Steve Rowles and Martha Pezzino - aren't listed by name on the cover because I had a fairly long conversation with a few people who understand branding and stuff, and they think that it's more important for people to be able to connect "The Gods of Arr-Kelaan" with a specific person - that is, me.

It helps get my name repeated with the comic more often and may make the comic more approachable as a commercial product. I know, boring sales stuff more or less. But when I branded "Going Home Book 2" as being by "Team Rubber Mallet", I was questioned on it quite a few times.

I intended it as a show of unity with the other people who work hard on this comic, but apparently it struck a few as me shying away from putting my name on the book. In fact, Martha and Steve were the first people to question it.

So, stop talking about it because it makes me feel very self-conscious. I didn't do it to pump up my ego, that's big enough already.

Heheh, I like how the cover says "BY CHUCK ROWLES" in big print and then "and the rest of Team Rubber Mallet" in small print. It's comedically juxtaposed! Wow, sarcastic intelligent humor doesn't work nearly as well without a voice...

Finally! Ronson will be back. Ronson IS the main character, without him this would be so much more like another fantasy-superhero-comic. He is the one who has some kind of perspektive on things. The rest have lost their humanity, in various degrees I admit - but still. Ronson is THE character that you can connect to. If the whole story is a dream, then it is Ronsons dream.

Woo! So do they all happen at the same time, making the 'Consequences' for the others (Ronson revives some one who makes a brewery and some soldier gets drunk there and vomits on Bikk's shoes and he gives the soldier the power to kill the other gods but then something else happens?)

If so, Sweet!

Yay for Ronson stories! ^_^ He's still my fav even though you've got an awesome lineup of characters the whole way around. Looking forward to "Consequences"!
