What it says. Coloring a page right now. Have already colored several, did you notice? heh.

I am fine with retcons but dynamically replacing old pages sounds messy and confusing. I think its better to redo all the pages you want to redo and then replace them all at once and post a full breakdown of what was replaced so we could look at it and digest the retcons.

This seems like a really bad time to go back and revise chapter 1. Sure, they were not then what they have turned out to be. But you aren't done. Chapter 1 really was what got most of us to read chapter two and then beyond. The timing of this -- you are going through a rough patch right now in growth, I suspect. The end of the last chapter from when the crystal cop brought the bad guy to the doctors has been comparatively self indulgent writing. Overconfidence in your new skill level is dangerous perhaps. Keep going till you're done. Then is plenty of time to go back and do a George Lucas on the whole thing (http://www.egscomics.com/?date=2012-09-03). If, at that point, you still even want to.

The character transitions I honestly attributed to character growth. The docs strolled into a situation overly cocky and made some major mistakes. Then, they set up shop and re-evaluated. And got attacked by a lot of ninja assassins.
The thing that really makes my spleen cry though... is the scheduling. Not the rate... you do produce slightly more than a page a week... which is FINE. It's the constant expectation that somehow, you'll be able to perform at your ideal speed without complications from your real life, causing you to think you're going to get 5 times as much done as reality allows.
It is possible to get better at estimating jobs... all it takes is to write down the estimate, and the actual time to complete... and compare. You've been doing this in your own commentary for much of the life of the comic.
Please, don't drive yourself nuts. Stay right around your current level of insanity. ;)

Heh, good luck! I'm sure it will be fine.

Mmm... I'm not fond of reworks. I understand the reasoning, but think is important to see the changes and progress which have been made. That said, am curious to see what exactly you change.

Worry not. Things won't get grimdark...yet. Muahahaha. And I am swearing that the first chapter will be the first and only I re-write. If I ever have enough time on my hands to fix up other chapters it would only be to correct the art, I actually like the dialogue. But I'm probably not going to do that.

Hi... Just want to say I understand how you feel. I hope you don't mind if I speak to offer a little caution based on past experience. I personally loved your early work, and the characters are not as bad as you suggest- maybe I'm blinded by nostalgia but they even seemed kinder while now they seem very dark. I could be completely wrong of course. Just don't get too wrapped up in 'fixing' things, as art is very subjective, and naysayers will always speak louder.

As I said, the old chapter 1 will still be available on deviantart.

That is fine if it makes you feel comfortable, but I believe you should keep a copy of that first chapter somewhere. After all, it is how all this really started.
As noseman said, looking forward to this.

Yeha, My chapter 1 is getting a rewrite as well. I've learned so much, I want to burn and pillage the past and give it a second try
