Making bubbles in Paint.NET

Step one:

Make all other parts of the comic in paint, then open it in Paint.NET, in this example, I made it entirely in Paint.NET however.

Step two:

Make two more layers by pressing the button that looks like two pieces of paper with a "+" sign tacked on one. Name the top one Text, and the Bottom one Bubbles or Bubble. Make sure the "Visible" box is ticked, and the opacity is 205. Blending mode doesn't matter.

Step three:

Please make sure both of these are checked. they stand for anti-leasing and Blending. Very useful as they make your text and bubble not look MSPaint-ish.

Step four:

Now, make sure you have a font you like (mine is BALLOON XBD 8), and that it is centered by clicking on this icon shown here.

Step five:

Now choose the Rounded Rectangle shape, make sure that in the colors it is black and white, go to the "Bubbles" layer, and choose the filled in shape icon (a circle and a square with a black outline around them), and change the brush width to five.

Step six:

DRAW A RECTANGLE! Simple.

Step seven:

Select the select tool (the dotted box) and select a part of the black outline of it. Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. make sure that it goes out at least three pixels.

Step eight:
Draw two white lines.
Set the tolerance to 69%.
fill it in with the paint bucket!

Step nine:

Now for the finale... draw two black lines over the white ones! (or over the sides of the white ones.)

FINISH!

Get back to the comic!!
