Chapter 2

Our hero and the crewman make an escape from the City of Roth. 
Outside the passage they travelled, the young lady catches up to them. 
She lets them know that her aunt has a home that will provide a temporary haven for them. 
The young Roth Councilman has decided to take a trip through the woods. 
Our hero, the crewman, and the young lady arrive at her aunt's home. 
Together they go to the aunt's room, where she has been kept, sick. 
There, our hero grapples with her and discovers she has been affected by Darkness. 
The Councilman is still riding when night falls, and he senses something is amiss. 
In the manor, our hero explains Darkness. 
Afterwards, the young lady takes a walk, only to encounter the old foe. 
The foe kidnaps the young lady, while the Councilman watches. 
The clouds take the shape of a serpent, and mask the stars overhead. 
Our hero, the crewman, and the servant notice the young lady's absense and decide to go after her.
