I miss having coffee shops open after midnight. Of course I never drink coffee after three o'clock (if I even drink it at all!!) because it's way too strong for me. It's a really cool title, by the way.
As for using charcoal for updates, I'd be too scared to use my flatbed scanner with that medium because it might smear up the screen. I'm all about experimenting with different mediums so it's good you're not afraid to try out new things - maybe watercolor pencils and inkwash would be good. But I digress, there is nothing quite like the smoothness of charcoal.
