Anna Heiner:Race: Human A Cafe owner in Epimetheus, she's a nice enough lady. She can be a bit harsh at times. She's very assertive and very few people will go against her.
Huitzilopochtli: Race: Avian. He is a prisoner that Kel meets. He was the sole survivor of a military unit and was accused and found guilty of desertion because he was not present at the time his unit was slaughtered. The truth of the matter was he was scouting out the area per his superiors orders. In addition to imprisonment, his wings were torn off so that he couldn't fly. He has served ten years of a life sentence.
Farutia Aelutyona: Race: Light Elf. Cardinal. She is in command of the Regular Army division of the Elvish army. She is sly, cunning and analytical, ever the consummate soldier. She commands the utmost loyalty of her troops and they would willingly follow her into the Void and back, if such were possible. It is said that she prefers the company of her naked sword in her bed instead of either man or woman, however she does care about her troops the same way a mother would care for her children.
Tiwa Aimyon: Race: Light Elf. Cardinal. She is in command of the Magi division of the Elvish army. She is very quiet and even when she does speak one has to listen very carefully to what she says as she is very soft-spoken. However, to say she is shy would be a gross misjudgement; she is very observant of everything around her and is very cold and calculating. She wields untold power and her troops would serve her unto death.
Adas Melwasul: Race: Light Elf. Cardinal. He is in command of the intelligence division of the Elvish army. In actuality it is used more as a group of assassins than an intelligence-gathering group. He is quiet, stealthy and never shows any emotion. He is very dangerous to have as an enemy, but one can never be sure if he is actually your ally. He was a complete unknown before he was raised to the position of Cardinal; Aldrow was the one who asked for him to be raised to the position. His eyes are two different colours; his left eye is red, his right eye is blue.
Soveliss Xiloscient: Race: Light Elf. Lord Cardinal. This soldier commands the other Cardinals and is answerable only to the ruler of the Elves. Even though his father was the previous Lord Cardinal, Soveliss started at the bottom of the military rank structure, received no favoritism in is rise through the ranks. Due to his ability, intelligence, valor and general likeability he rose quickly through the ranks. He achieved the rank of Lord Cardinal at an unprecedented young age after his father was mortally wounded in combat. Soveliss took his father's place and lead the army, turning what could have been a crushing defeat into a resounding victory. It is rumored that he has a romantic relationship with Lady Xanaphia, the current Ruler of the Elvish people.
Reynard Gabriolus: Race: Light Elf. Cardinal. Deceased. Even before he was a Cardinal of the science and research division of the Elvish army, he was renowned as a brilliant researcher, creating many bioengineering procedures, etheric techniques and life saving and life altering drugs. He is most famous for the drug 'Overdrive'. It is rumored that before he became a Cardinal he experimented on himself due to lack of test subjects. There are places on his body where the skin has Ichthyosis Vulgaris, especially the right side of his face. He keeps his body covered at all times and has grown his hair long over the right side of his face to hide his apparent skin disorder. He is the one who initiated the Zodiac Project.
Epimetheus: The city that Kel first finds himself in. It is very ordinary and boring as human cities go.
Arbot: Nature Elf citadel. It lies in the center of the Sea of Trees and is held above the canopy. It has the appearance of a flower in full bloom. People find it hard to navigate because, since it is a living thing, a giant plant, corridors, hallways and rooms will sometimes shift due to growth.
Themis: A human city that was able to resist the Elvish invasion during the Elves War of Conquest. It stood for decades under siege until the last years of the war when every man, woman and child inside the city as well as the besieging army outside were wiped out.
Sea of Trees: Continent that is completely covered in immense trees. It is impossible to navigate the interior of the forest, as one can very easily get lost. The canopy however is so thick that one can sail small or mid-sized ships on top of it. Towers that are taller than the trees surround the continent's perimeter. These are human constructs that once served as outposts. They are now the greatest entertainment centers in the world.
Tartaros: One of the many human made prisons throughout the world. It also serves as the garrison for the local militia/army. The prisoners, an assortment of bandits, murderers and others all serving a life sentence, are utilized as dog soldiers in times of conflict with outside forces.
Coeus: Center of human learning. It has a huge archive with records of history.
Pressure points: Pressure points are spots on the body, that when struck precisely, can cause temporary paralysis in that area. For Trolls, it is perhaps their greatest weakness. There are points on their arms, legs and neck, that when struck precisely and with sufficient force can cause extremely painful paralysis. This is due to their regenerative attempting to heal the damage; as the ligaments, muscles, flesh and blood vessels aren't really damaged, this does more damage to the healthy tissues.
Mana: The source of all life. Without it life is not possible, earth turns to sand, incapable of supporting life, water becomes stagnant or far too pure, wind stops and the air fouls, fire no longer provides heat, trees cannot grow, light does not illuminate, darkness doesn’t hide anything. Mana is a power for magick and can increase a person’s abilities. However, in great quantities mana can cause severe mutations in living organisms and in most cases, death. The levels of Mana in the air and outputted by the Elemental Pillars are in safe quantities.
Mana Crystal: This is a crystalline object, which holds great energy. A crystal, depending on its size can provide electricity, heat, clean water or refrigeration depending on its element and the device it is powering. It has two parts, the crystal shell and the heart: a bubble of varying size in the center. The larger the heart, the more power is stored.
Leyline: It is said that there are eight lines, one of each element, that travel around the circumference of Roun, each starting and ending at an Elemental Pillar. Along these lines mana crystals grow and crystals that have been used up can be recharged there. This has yet to be proven, though there are spots where an abundance of crystals grow and empty ones can be recharged.
Elemental Pillar: There are eight objects in the world that supply the world with mana. These Pillars have an infinite supply of mana and can never be depleted. If they did not exist, Roun would shrivel up and die along with everyone and everything on the planet. Each Pillar can be found within one of the Elvish citadels.
Elemental Spirits: It is said that these powerful beings are the incarnation, the will and intelligence of the Elemental Pillars. They can appear in whatever forms they wish, but most often appear in a certain forms. Each represents an elemental aspect and can wield untold power. They do not usually directly involve themselves in mortal affairs. Their major concern is the planet itself.
Paopei: A term denoting a weapon with great power. Each is unique and special, being forged with a fragment of an Elemental Pillar. It requires the absolute mastery of smithing to create a Paopei and there are only a handful of people who can forge a single Paopei. There are only a couple of people in the entire world who can forge more than one Paopei as the forging of one depletes one's life force. It should be noted that while elves have created the greatest number of Paopei, the word 'Paopei' is not Elvish in origin.
Common Language Names: When punishing their criminals, elves never put one of their own to death. Instead they are banished and their names are consigned to their human translation. This is the highest form of punishment, the equivalent of death to any Elf. There are some cases where an Elf voluntarily changes their name to its human translation, isolating themselves from Elvish society. Examples of common language Elf names are: Emberglow, Leaffall, Seabreeze. It may not sound like a punishment to others, but it's really bad for an elf, becoming an outcast and isolated from their society.
Overdrive: A very potent drug created by brilliant Elvish scientist Reynard Gabriolus. A single dose can bring out the subjects innate powers as well as greatly enhance them beyond standard limits. It is considered extremely dangerous to take more than one dose at any given time due to the fact that chances of dependence or death by overdose increases with each subsequent dose. A maximum of three doses is permitted, though one dose is usually all that is allowed. One dose is 5 mg.
Cardinal: Cardinal is the name for the highest rank in Elven military. There are four Cardinals, one in command of each division of the army and the Grand Cardinal, which commands the other four. The Grand Cardinal reports only to the royal family. A Cardinal wears a red uniform with silver trim, while the Grand Cardinal wears red with gold trim.
Lord Cardinal: This is the title for the Cardinal who is the leader of the Cardinals. This is the absolute highest rank achievable in the Elvish forces and this person is only answerable to the Ruler of the Light Elves.
Chaos War: A term denoting, for the Elves, the centuries of aggression towards the Dark Elves. If another race uses the term they are referring to the 1000 years that the Elves spent fighting to bring the world under their rule.
Longinus: A Paopei. A dual headed lance belonging to Grand Cardinal Xiloscient. Its points never dull nor does it rust and when commanded it can return to his hand if used as a thrown weapon.
