And that's our second story, another friggin great tale brought to you by Tantz Aerine and Aeon anyways here's what they have to say about it:
Tantz: I have a smash with this collaboration- this being the first script I write for someone else. It was great to see every character take shape in Aeon's wonderful art. We were going for a 'life attitude' piece with this one, and I think it actually worked out pretty well!
Aeon: Tried a new style with this one. It was great to take advantage of someone else's writing skills for a change. Collaboration makes it happen.
(somehow putting up their comments like this makes me feel like a reality TV host)
Greg, we collaborated on the imagery as well. I gave Aeon some imagery suggestions, and she composed these beautiful pages. Also, I think the ink in page one was intentionally left bland and in start difference to the rest of the comic, if I recall one of our discussions about it. :)
I really dig it. Short, to the point (poignant?), strong. Thank the gods you don't resort to laser-beam eyes.
The composition is great. I really dig the way Aeon threw it together (unless Tantz had the vision beforehand?). The shapes and images are great. In the first page, it looks like the broken pen is cutting flesh. The use of lighting is also top-notch. The headlights are like the eyes of a beast. The last panel makes me think of an angel (guardian?) reaching down to lift up a lost soul. It's good.
(That said, the spilt ink effect seemed rather bland compared to the rest of your fluid and deep coloring.)
This is absolutely stunning work both of you. I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect. I figured it would be an interesting story but this just blew me away. I actually started tear up a little bit. This is a beautiful story and one I my favorites that I have read. I really can’t give you guys enough credit. Simply superb.
Oh wow. I really like you art style. The colors and all. I'll have the read the rest of it to figure out what its all about :3 keep up the good work. ^^
