| User: edbang | | | I borrowed two Francine Rivers books, Voice in the Darkness, and Echo in the Wind, from a fried, and they kinda opened a window for me.
I loved how she portrayed the faith journey of the characters... If you are looking for God, you will find Him. You stumble and make all sorts of mistakes, and I'm not really sure if the way you look is that important or the attitude you have doing it, but the point is that you DO look.
It is unfortunate when people tell you to just believe and that is it. Some things you gotta journey for, and struggle and live through to actually understand... Although I think people who do get it when just told are really blessed. -Posted on Aug 20, 2009 | | User: Evil Emperor Nick | | | Hmm interesting thoughts there you two.
I used to attend a church discussion group. It was a really good experience. It was an open forum to discuss issues and I was VERY please to find it was one of the few times I've ever seen a group who often disagreed with each other really listen and discuss things rather then argue. I've yet to meet another group like it. I personally found that to be one of the best experiences in my life concerning faith. It was very informative and sometimes even enlightening. Everyone in a while someone would hit you with something and you would end up with that exact look on your face. A total "Really? I had no idea." moment. I kind of take it in stride though, I learn a long time ago that there is always more to learn and sometimes even things which have to be unlearned. -Posted on Aug 19, 2009 | | User: JustNoPoint | | 5 | I was just thinking about this comic the other day.
I'll admit I know nothing of my own faith really. It feels like cheating to form your own belief system based on what you THINK is right and wrong. Saying which parts of the bible I believe and do not believe.
But then again I am a pretty paranoid person too. And I know religion is one of the best ways to control people. Then you have all these people that "KNOW" how to interpret the bible. They form different church sects and the truth is blurred. Sure some of the interpretations may be accurate.
If I was to simply persue a life of nothing but faith I think I would go from church to church. Sect to sect, religion to religion. Well the religions that worship 1 lord anyway. I always figure it's the same God. -Posted on Aug 19, 2009 | | User: Evil Emperor Nick | | 5 | | Huzzah! I'm glad to see this isn't dead. -Posted on Aug 19, 2009 |
