Ryu-hime is a independent comic. This means, I do it all! I draw, ink, write, edit, and digitally shade/color (not to mention designing and updating this very site).Ryu-hime is my first attempt at a professionl comic. The idea has been in my head since I started high school, and now that i'm in college it is my goal to start producing some kick ass comics. What do I use to make my comics?-ComicLife and Adobe Photoshop.
How do I make my comic?
-First, I draw my ideas in blue pencil on 8x11 paper.
-Then, without erasing the lines, I begin to ink my page.
-Next, i make high quality copies...and voila! All the blue lines are gone! This is called bluelining, and i don't have to worry about annoying pencil smudges.
-Now I begin some shading! I use various markers, pencils and line techniques.
-Now I gather my pages and scan all the images into my mac @ 300dpi.
-I open the images in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and make minor adjustments.
-Then, I add digital screentones and comic fx.
-At this point, I add the text and make final image revisions.
-and then....I save & upload everything!
