Believe it or not, this was actually based on something that happened at a Chinese buffet I went to once (only in their case it actually WAS a free dessert...and no, I didn't win)
I know Hua Po isn't actually Zao Jun's daughter, but after a bit of research (which included wikipedia and 14 seconds of googling) I don't think he had one, so I just went with Hua Po because...well...she's cute and she's Chinese.
