I myself love the concept of the artist being some sort of deity and laughing in the faces of their characters. I do that a LOT in my writing - though I never actually broke the fourth wall. Also, it's funny how both of us quit drawing altogether for many many years before beginning anew on DD. The last comic I drew before "A Bit Cheesy" was a bunch of strips 12 years ago, as well. Talk about a coinky-dink? And I too was wondering whether to give my characters 4 or 5 fingers.
