I doubt that the revelation about Spacehawk's condition will come as much of a surprise to anyone who's been reading the story. As you may have guessed, this whole short story is just a flimsy pretext for me to draw all sorts of psychadelic and surrealist nonsense. That stuff begins to kick into high gear on the next page, and that should be pretty fun to draw.
I injected the narrative caption into the third panel at the last minute. I just wanted to insinuate that enough time had passed between panels two and three to explain why the sprinklers were off and Spacehawk was dry again.
The alien's form in the first panel was suggested in the script I wrote for myself. All of his other forms, however, were done on the spot as I was drawing them. I liked the idea of the alien waving his arms about like a muppet when he's screaming "No!", so there it went. I think I like the clown the most out of all the transformations though. I think I did a pretty solid job on his facial expression.
